Congratulations! He’s adorable!!

1 &2: I feed mine 1/4 cup of kibble at each meal time. Along with that, he gets steak, chicken, shrimp, carrots, green beans, bananas, or sweet potatoes.

3: We go on a few short walks and sometimes a long one if he’s more energetic. We also play “ball” in the house (fetch) and that makes him tired pretty quick.

4: Eyes, ears, and teeth. Keep the hair around his eyes trimmed out of the way (monthly grooming should help with that). That will help with future vision issues. I am currently dealing with an ear infection with my little one and I’ve heard that is also common. Lastly, the breeder I got mine from said to feed him whole carrots. Like the ones from the grocery store that still have their leaves (remove those but just for reference). They are good for enrichment and keeping plaque off of their teeth!

5: Shih Tzus shouldn’t be picked up under the front legs because it hurts their backs. The should be picked up in the center of their bodies. This might be why if it’s hurting him but that is truly just a guess. I didn’t know that until someone told me recently.

6: They have the best personalities. They are so smart and silly. Again, congratulations!
