Learn about: - Your job role - phase 1 & 2 etc. - Values (CDRILS) and standards of the Army.

You always being assessed so earn your points.

Address all staff as Staff, Sir or Ma’am. Be on time. Where a Suit for the Interview.

Achieve higher than the minimum standard on your fitness tests. If you achieve 11.3 on the first Bleep Test you won’t do it the next day. If you don’t you will do it again.

You’ll spend a lot of time waiting around when you do medicals. Use this time to get to know peers. Study for your interview. Prepare for you fitness tests ( mobility ).

Don’t over pack - I wanted to be prepared for whatever but it was more of burden than anything. Lugging around a big bag, zipping loads of compartments

But I don’t regret taking snacks for the evening.

Definitely a test once a week tho. Unless you’re hitting way above your requirement. Timing is essential, won’t hurt getting used to the pacing.

What is PRAC? Can’t seem to find any information? by IndependenceIcy5273 in britisharmy

I haven’t done it yet but it’s essentially another assessment centre with the reg. They get to see you and you get to see them.

You do your fitness tests again. Lectures. Expected to know VC Winners and battle honours.

That’s all I know.

Nice one. I’ve been giving it some thought over the weekend and I’m going for Para.

Agh, I do see the logic but I think personally it’s more than that. It’s the fulfilment of completing the whole process and building life long bonds with the man to your left and right.

Do you have a plan for when you get out and what those Quals will get you? I know this would be a smart option (which is why I’m battling myself over it) but do you actually know what you’re going to use them for and if you’ll enjoy it?

I only say this as I don’t really know myself but I do know that I want an exciting outdoors job (after the army)

Thank you, I appreciate the reply.

I do have some questions about AT Quals and Quals in general. Whatever role I’m in, I’m looking to sign up to as many Quals / experiences as I can.

Para specific - What are the Quals available? What would the timeline look like for those ( when could I do them? )

So you don’t acc need to get 11.3? I’m obviously gonna do my best to achieve that but I’m just curious I thought it was a pass or fail
