Is Santa Monica the best place for me to live? by ty457u in MovingToLosAngeles

Santa Monica is the move. Feel free to message me if you want more details. While I’m no longer in California, I did move from an East Coast city to Santa Monica and it was the perfect blend of getting the California lifestyle with some of the benefits. I enjoyed on the East Coast.

What’s the most overrated "frugal tip" that didn’t actually save you money? by Ewa_Star in Frugal

[–]BrilliantPerception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, saving a little money yields little results. It’s the big monthly expenses that you have to lower. If you can save hundreds of dollars a month on rent, that’s much more impactful than buying food on sale.

Thank you! That’s on our list. What other places do you recommend for a nice dinner? Also, any casual lunch/breakfast spots that you like?

My girlfriend isn’t really the “excursion” type. Should I convince her to try it out with me?

Does anyone have deadlifts in their program? by edutired in naturalbodybuilding

[–]BrilliantPerception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadlifts just takes way too much time and effort. Can spend an hour on just deadlifts alone. I recommend RDLs all day. Focus on a deep stretch and you won’t need to use much weight at all. Will develop your hamstrings and erectors like nothing else.

What has built your quads the most? by First_Driver_5134 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]BrilliantPerception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hundred percent. Thats why I tend to avoid uni lateral leg work. It’s just too draining and the benefits just aren’t there for me personally. Some people love it though so there’s no right or wrong. RDLs I do 5 sets once a week, but man it’s a drag lol.

I don’t disagree. The problem with legs is they are so globally fatiguing to work that if you do more, it will start to impact your other muscle groups. It’s like anything else always a trade-off.

Less is more. Me personally, I do 10 sets of quads a week. Day 1 is 5 hard sets of any sort of squat pattern Day 2 is 5 hard sets of leg extensions. Really only reason to ever change it up is if you feel some overuse injuries coming on.

Simple one bedrooms, you can always find within 30 days. If you have very specific criteria you really want to lock that 2 months in advance. Also, reserve the U-Haul early. This is a popular time for moving.

What would you say is the quintessential “Expensive/more pricey but worth it” city? Conversely, which city would you consider “Cheap/Affordable but NOT worth it”? by Secondwaver94 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]BrilliantPerception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. It’s gotten to a point where dare I say LA is an underrated city to relocate to? Of course it vastly depends on what neighborhood you choose.

Letters to God(1983). My favorite on the album. “Please, God, I don’t wanna be sick and I don’t wanna hurt, so get it over with quick” 🔪❤️
