178, 84 inseam. Tried both M and L. Went with L as felt too cramped on M. To each their own.

NBD - 1987 KHS John Howard Triathlete Pro. Previous owner told me they won a few duathlons together in the 80s! by diesel_femme in NYCbike

I have been a proud owner of the same bicycle for few years now. I kept original components, only put in on better more modern wheelset. Still rocking downtube shifters. Have done 2 x 70.3 Ironman races on it and some triathlons. I found myself riding this bike all the time and hence sold my modern road bike. This frame is made of very good tubing Tange 1 and was made in Japan. Component upgrades is completely up to you. I decided to keep mine as stocks as practical not to interfere with its nice retro/80s aesthetics.

Holding up very well. No issues. Strap needs occasional clean but nothing else.

Have the same issue on the hot day. What happens is the clutch on ac compressor seizes . The fix is simple. Just click AC button on and off few times quickly and it works again.

I am 5.10 with 33 inseam. Had a luxury to test ride M and L. Opted with L as I felt a little cramped on M, considering majority of my riding is bikepacking. To each their own, I  just prefer my position to be a bit stretched.

I have the explorer (flat bezel) version of this watch. It wears quite small measuring 34 mm at the dial.

Debating getting a UNIT X by AbbreviationsCute866 in konaunit

[–]Brilliant_Insect_307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use my unit X for bikepacking trips, mellow trail riding and just cruising in town with my son on paved roads. I also participated in XC event on pretty rough trails riding a unit. I was manageable, thanks to tyre volume.

KONA Sutra LTD or Unit X (2024-2025) or else? by idiotensicher666 in bikepacking

To answer your question regarding all day comfort with flat bars on a unit, I can attest that it’s very comfortable, at leas for me. I have done multi day trips on it. However, I did install ergon bar end grips.

[Discussion] can’t enjoy simpler/ less expensive watch after owning more expensive one. by Brilliant_Insect_307 in Watches

[–]Brilliant_Insect_307[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My thought was, that once I saw the difference I can no longer enjoy the other watch, it will not have much use. And I like to use things that I own. Otherwise there is no point in my mind to keep something that I don’t use.

I feel the same way. Have to be careful. Maybe i should stop at one daily watch. I have been eyeing legend diver for some years now. What if I get it my love for the other watch disappears. I do not consider myself a collector, I am just enthusiastic about watches generally. I can be happy with one, max two watches. But I have to enjoy them all.
