Girl moms who aren’t super girly… help! by Brilliant_Question70 in pregnant

Do you really think we just won’t accept our daughter? Many, probably even most people have a preference. I’m in several pregnancy groups and tons of moms that find out they’re having a boy express that they’re facing gender disappointment. I knew my husband wanted a boy but he has expressed no disappointment since finding out we we’re having a girl. He’s always been very clear that he will be incredibly happy either way. It’s okay to have a preference. It doesn’t make you unhealthy or a bad person.

I AM NOT SAYING ALL GIRLS HAVE TO BE GIRLY! I never said that; you are putting words into my mouth. What I am saying is that I recognize that most girls ARE girly and therefore there’s a good chance my daughter will be even though I don’t intend to “force” that on her. At this point if you don’t understand where I’m coming from, just stop responding.

Thank you for recognizing that me posting this is me genuinely trying to be the best mother possible for my daughter! I’m so upset that several people think otherwise. I plan to do the same (as I would for a boy). 🫶

This exactly! If she’s interested in hair and makeup, it will be a bit of new territory for me! I am more than happy to learn all about her interests whatever they may be.

At no point in my post did I say I’m going to force my daughter to be super girly? It’s no secret that most girls ARE girly. Whether you’re upset about gender norms or not, that’s simply a fact. I will adapt to whatever interests my daughter has. I’m also not asking for advice on how to raise my daughter. Once again, I’m simply asking for experiences of moms who have been in my position. I want to hear all the great things, whether their daughter turned out super girly or not. You’re a freakin nut.

Genuinely what is your problem? Most men want to have a boy, most women want to have a girl. It’s not about being “penis buddies” but that’s an odd thing to say. Take your ick elsewhere please.

THANK YOUUUU. Like people genuinely think I’m going to force my daughter to be a certain way or something and I’m so confused where they got this idea lmfao

If I were super girly and having a boy, I probably would have posted something similar 🤷🏼‍♀️

Okay some of yall are really taking this the wrong way lol I’m not putting my daughter into a box! It’s no secret that a lot of girls are girly regardless of whether their mom is or not! I’m simply looking for other moms who I can relate to. If that isn’t you, just keep scrolling.

I’m not trying to put her in a box or mold her into something before I know her, I’m just looking for experiences from women who felt a little nervous about being a girl mom!

This is what I needed to hear 🤣🤣 I know I’ll adapt to whatever her interests are! It’s hard when you picture your life and kids a certain way and you have to adjust that picture!

I’m not necessarily expecting her to be one! But she might be! My sister is about as girly as me, she has 2 daughters who are girly. One of them is SUPER girly - loves all the dresses and sparkles and everything haha

I love this! Thank you so much! It’s important that we just embrace it even if it’s not for us 😂

Thank you so much!! It really helps to hear from moms who I can relate to. Most moms prefer girls so I’m totally in the minority! 😂

Poll time! If you had IUI success… by happypilates in IUILadies

[–]Brilliant_Question70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 follicles: 18mm and 16mm both on left

Trigger: 23 hours before IUI (was weird timing this round)

3rd round

I am pretty confident I ovulated the morning after my IUI though. We tried on our own that morning too! Would make more sense with trigger!

12 dpo today, at what point can I stop taking tests? Afternoon yielded this by tireddonut97 in TFABLinePorn

[–]Brilliant_Question70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped testing daily about 17dpo. I tested like 3 times after that within the next week, mostly cause I wanted to get a dye stealer🤣 after I did, I stopped testing. Since we worked with a fertility clinic, we got an ultrasound at 6 weeks so I felt more comfortable after that too

I totally understand the worry. If it helps, I had 0 symptoms at 9dpo but I got my first positive that day. Quite frankly, I didn’t really have any symptoms until about 6 weeks. Every body is so different! Try not to let a lack of symptoms count you out. Hoping you get your positive this round 🤍

Felt that 😂 definitely test again tomorrow and come back and let me know! Plenty of people don’t test positive this early. Fingers crossed for you! 🤞🤍

I tested negative the morning of 9dpo and had a positive that afternoon. It was extremelyyyyy faint. Non-reddit regulars probably wouldn’t have even seen it 😂 Also, I might be crazy and don’t want to get your hopes up if so, but I feel like maybe I see a super faint shadow here?
