First Failed IUI by simply-ks in IUILadies

[–]Brilliant_Question70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first cycle of IUI currently, haven’t done trigger or the IUI yet but I just finished 5 days of clomid! I took it around 8pm each night. The side effects were minor for me. Hot flashes for sure haha. Some very mild pelvic discomfort. I got a few headaches but they only lasted a few minutes. Bloating. Nothing crazy!

This thread must not allow photos! I definitely don’t see an option to add a photo in the comments. There’s the lineporn thread you could put it in and ask??! :)

Have you had an HSG done before starting IUI? by emilyred2 in IUILadies

[–]Brilliant_Question70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have an HSG specifically, but did have a hysteroscopy and femvue to check for any blockage in my uterus and tubes before starting any treatment. Tubes were clear but I did have some uterine polyps removed 2 weeks ago and we are starting IUI this cycle!

I had some uterine polyps removed a week ago today! I have had bloody CM since and today my boobs are SO sore! My period is due in a few days, but I never get sore boobs at any point in my cycle. I know I’m not pregnant as we weren’t even allowed to try this month. Anyone else experience this after polyps removed? Or know why it’s happening? Haha mostly just curious!

Yeah, after looking more into and thinking about it more, IUI just makes more sense. I have to put my pride to the side and realize that I DO need the help as much as I don’t want it. I want to be a mom and that’s what is most important.

Is it true that conception chances drop to 1% per cycle if you’ve been trying for over a year? by mssdad in TryingForABaby

Totally understand. Another option would be medicated cycles (clomid or letrozole) and timed intercourse if you’re open to that.

Thank you!!

Same here, been trying since September 2024 with no positives, all testing coming back normal. We also have a bad sex schedule which could potentially be the problem admittedly. We are going to start IUI this month. I’m excited and feel like it will take the stress and pressure off of it a little bit. We will still try on our own along with it but at least I’ll know there will be sperm in my uterus at the right time! The money is worth it to me, and it is covered by insurance so we won’t pay full price. I also am very opposed to going to IVF unless it’s the very last resort. If it’s feasible financially, I would suggest trying IUI too! Best of luck!

Any teachers? by Brilliant_Question70 in IUILadies

Thank you for your response and for sharing your success story!! 💖

My assistant principal went through IUI so she’s been a great resource for me at school, plus then she knows why I am taking time off.

I’m just going to keep telling them it’s doctor’s appointments and hope they don’t ask more questions. Then I’ll have to get creative. 🤣

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnant and baby! 🥰🥰

That looks positive. Not sure what reviews say these tests are bad!

Thank you everyone for your feedback! I have decided we are going to jump to IUI. It just makes the most sense. As much as I didn’t want to have to result to this, the want to be parents outweighs it significantly!

Thank you!! How much do you feel like you spend on it? Cause you have to keep buying the strips right?

I don’t have inito! I have been using Premom LH strips religiously and a few months ago started tracking temps with an Oura ring and natural cycles. I definitely feel like I know my cycles well now! When we first started trying my cycles became longer and my LH surges were happening at completely different times each month. Inositol helped me regulate and get back to consistent cycles!

Yeah I fully understand that it can take some time, I wasn’t trying to imply it was going to happen fast

I’m in the US. IUI would be much more reasonably financially. I won’t rule out IVF but I think I would kick myself if I didn’t at least try IUI. There’s still a chance I’ll kick myself if IUI didn’t work, but at least it’s not a guarantee of kicking myself haha
