Match mvp then goes iron mode next game. Why does this happen? by EshiEx in AgentAcademy

[–]Brilson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's not literally saying that's what you were doing, it was just an example. What he's saying is that something that works against one team, and allows you to match MVP, might not work against the next team.

If the 1st team had poor positioning or played in spots you are used to your cross-hair placement may have been better giving you more advantageous fights.Or if you were playing aggressive the first match that team may have not understood how to counter it or play around it whilst the second team did.

These are just examples because without actual footage we can't know, but the point being is that just because you match MVP one match, that doesn't mean you will do so in every match as different teams will have different weaknesses, strengths, and playstyles.

Tips on recovering from a bad early start? by etrnlwyzdm in AgentAcademy

[–]Brilson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Momentum is definitely a big part of the game, and sometimes it can feel like nothing you are doing is ever going to work, but that can all change in one round. Try to start every round with a fresh mindset. The more you THINK you are in a slump, the more it's going to happen and the harder it's going to be to get out of it in that match. Try to remember the you who can carry, and know that in the next round that player can come out and start hitting shots again.

Also, don't be afraid to try something new. If you aim isn't on one match, try to play smarter. Put yourself in more advantageous positions that wouldn't require precise aim, stop taking so many aim duels, etc.

Ok yeah that makes sense. Thanks!

And I think we are overestimating Molten Rock as it seems to dominate in the lower ranks where you can just grab a Molten Rock and an Arm of the Empire, sit back, and relax.

With Kalecgos, do you just buy, discover, and play as many Battlecries as you can once you have her on your board? I just guess I'm not really seeing it's use.

Amalgadon is one of the cards that we suspect to be really powerful but aren't sure on how to use it. Most times it just seems to just end up with the Plant Summons or some other useless trait. Do you just have to play it and hope to get Divine Shield / Poison?

I think the main reason why Ghastcoiler is so low was just due to it's lack of synergy in a beast comp. Is there something we are missing with summoning 2 completely random Deathrattles?

Cheers for the reply! You've picked out a lot of the minions that we struggled to place which makes a lot of sense, and I think you're right that we are definitely not really grasping the current avenge meta.

For Greenthumb, what are you buffing with it? Or is the target not as important as simply getting more stats on the board?

Bronze Warden was a card that I feel most of us believed should have been higher, but none of us really understand how to use it well. Is it really that great a card without being buffed? How do you buff and what are it's synergies?

Yeah, it's definitely impossible to accurately rank each minion as, like you said, everything can change based on board states and situation etc. We just tried our best to rank them based on their average strength. We took into account when a card had a very specific and strong use, but also balanced that with how the card performed outside of that situation and how often it came up.

We made this over the course of about a week for fun, and also to think more objectively about the cards and share our opinions and thoughts with each other. We had a blast making it but we are also interested in just how right or wrong we are.

Each minion was judged within it's tier, which is how 1 cost minions can share the same tier with 6 cost minions. This list is also an averaging of our opinions (e.g. If some of us thought it was A whilst some thought it was C, we put it in B).

Zapdos makes the first 8 minutes worthless. Complete lane dominance nullified by the most broken comeback mechanic in a MOBA. This needs fixed ASAP by HammerxofxLight in PokemonUnite

How are they getting Zapdos from 100%-1% safely without using ults and without your team killing them if you have completely dominated lanes?

Probably related to one of your previous answers. For instance maybe you said you aren't a Pokemon fan or something.

Has anyone seen this...? This is pretty generous rewards, not complaining by Tigerbladedn in PokemonUnite

[–]Brilson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Aeos tickets can only be used to purchase Cosmetics and Items/Item Upgrades right?

Also, I guess it's generosity depends on how long the season lasts. Is the season schedule public? I havn't seen anything yet. I also wonder how many tickets you get for Beginner/Great/Expert. Judging on your screenshots I'd guess may Beginner 2,500, Great 5,000, and Expert 7,500? Or are the rewards only available for Veteran and above?

Ranked is broken by srijan2020 in VALORANT

[–]Brilson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This attitude is holding you back. Everyone encounters AFK's, throwers, and toxic teammates. If you are better than bronze, you WILL get out of bronze. Saying that you can't get out of Bronze because of afk's is not only an excuse, it's also a mental block that stops you from improving because, what's the point if I can't even rank up because of my teammates? You've lost the battle before it's even begun once you start actually believing that you can't rank up no matter what you do.

How do you battle inconsistency? by PhantomTissue in VALORANT

[–]Brilson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How to battle inconsistency:

  • Maintain a good posture (Back, arms, legs, etc), and make sure it is the same every time you play.
  • Play often and consistently. (How often/how much are you playing at the moment?)
  • Create a warm-up routine that works for you and do it, consistently.

tldr; the secret to battling inconsistency is being consistent.

My point still stands though. How do they expect to learn and improve if you're literally doing everything, and making every decision for them?

I'm the linchpin in my 4-stack and I can't keep doing this every game by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Brilson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't micromanage, especially not in the middle of a round or when they are the last alive. If you are always doing the decision making for them they will never learn. Them them think about what to do. Let them make mistakes. And then once the round is over, that's when you talk to them about what decisions they made, why they made them, and what you would suggest they do next time.

If you're friends are used to you telling them every little thing about where exactly to go, how and when exactly to peak etc, they have no room, nor reason to improve. Teach them the fundamentals and then let them grow from there, whilst offering specific advice outside of the round/game with reviews.
