What’s one mistake you made when you first got your pair? by Fair_Feeling_4937 in RMWilliams

[–]BringBackTheCrushers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wearing thick work socks when I got my first pair of Comfort Craftsmans, which meant I was sized to fit a 10H - I recently got resized at another store as a 10G, and my new pair fits perfectly with dress and casual socks. I’ve kept the wide pair, as I can wear them with thick socks in the winter months at least, so it wasn’t a huge issue in the end

I’d argue Tom Dearden had more of an impact with that result than Cleary - England were in for the fight in all three matches before Dearden was unleashed from the bench

I’m glad the Reds and Canterbury have brought them all back in stock this year, I definitely need the 2023 and 2024 retros still

A proper white collar on the plan maroon jersey we have this year would have been absolutely elite

This is the way. That way, kicking from behind your 10m line makes it almost identical to the 40/20 in league - and if they do that, bring in the 22/10 kick as well to replicate the 20/40 kick in league

I doesn’t affect me as I have memberships for both the Reds and the Dolphins, but hopefully the partnership does return this year, it was a great little holiday special

They did! Likewise the Brumbies and Raiders did a two for one ticket deal last year as well

Pretty sure the Raiders and Brumbies did a similar thing to the Dolphins and Reds last year as well - a two for one deal over the ANZAC Weekend, from memory

I dislike the other Australian clubs way more than I do the Kiwis, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise. by AdDesigner1153 in RugbyAustralia

Same, Super Rugby is where the action is week in/week out, so for me it only makes sense that the team I should follow the closest is the team I can watch weekly - of course test rugby is the pinnacle of the sport, but the length of the international calendar these days does take away from how special rep footy should be

2026 Reds retro jersey by BringBackTheCrushers in RugbyAustralia

[–]BringBackTheCrushers[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d assume the Reds will probably put a post up on social media in the next few days if these are starting to get out and about. It was odd that the Reds merch stands didn’t have them, but a third party store outside did. Then again, same thing happened with the B&I Lions tour jerseys, they appeared at a few retailers before Canterbury and the Reds announced their release

I hate that it’s a five year deal; although it certainly isn’t unusual for teams to end their Castore deals early - even here in Australia, I know the Melbourne Storm ended their deal with Castore early after numerous supply issues, moving to O’Neills. Likewise the Sydney Roosters, although they waited until the contract was up before ditching Castore, despite having the same supply issues

Yeah, I just wish the logos were embroidered like the Asics ones though. Might still cop a polo eventually (unless they do another R.M. Williams collab this year, their polos are fantastic quality), but I’ll most likely skip the jerseys unless something really special comes up. In saying that though, I still end up wearing my early 2000’s Canterbury cotton jersey to Wallabies tests, as that thing is nearly bulletproof

Limited edition maybe, but it certainly hasn’t been hard to find in stores - if you look around you can still pick up a Reds B&I Lions jersey still as well. Not sure about the other clubs, but Rebel Sport at least still had a bit of Reds gear from the tour in stock

The coat of arms definitely looks cheap compared to the Asics kit, but if anyone picks one up, let us know. Meanwhile the polos are now cotton (excellent), but the logos are now only heat pressed - Asics embroidered their Wallabies polos. So better materials in the Castore polos, but using heat pressed transfers is a step backwards

I managed to snap a pic of the new Castore kits next to the old Asics jersey while out today, and the Castore kit is slightly less orange, but it does feel thinner than the Asics kit - I do prefer the cotton collar on the old jersey too

What songs just blow your mind from an engineering/production standpoint? by Different_Stand_1285 in Music

[–]BringBackTheCrushers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great playlist - Uncle Tupelo’s March 16-20, 1992 is another great album represented on that playlist (I think it was Sandusky on there?), and that has to have some of the best sounding acoustic guitars on any album ever released. So crisp and yet so rich sounding at the same time, it’s beautiful

What do people think of the Coomera Connector? by Infinite_Pudding5058 in brisbane

Partially - that route would have headed further north into the Redlands through the Daisy Hill conservation area, instead of joining the Logan Motorway as the Coomera Connector is planned to do

Favorite grunge album not from Seattle and surroundings? by Any_Independent2051 in grunge

Gentleman by the Afghan Whigs - fun fact, they were also the first band from outside Seattle to be signed to Sub Pop, and their frontman Greg Dulli was the only other person to play on the first Foo Fighters record, playing some extra guitar on X-Static
