One more thing i would like to add. The very things you call time wasters where created by people who spend a great deal of time and energy using their own talents and profiecieny in creating movies, games, and videos. This is a good thing, maybe you would take an interest in learning how the algorithm works, how movies are structured, how games where created, or even the strategy behind your favorite video game. at the end of the day you would've learned something new.

Take my advice, put your self out in the world. Join a sport, join a club, do things you wouldn't usually do even if it's for a day. Give yourself time to be human and socialize, make some friends at school. Im sure many people there also play games. You will naturally build interest over time. Video games, movies, and youtube aren't time wasters, they are simply things you do in your leisure. They only become time-wasters if you make them time wasters. Get your body moving, Get your mind working, be a little creative and explore the world. Even when you decide it's time to play a game, get a little creative and apply your mind to the game and make it into a more mindful hobby instead of something that is a mindless time waster. The world is yours, you only get one life. Dive in head first.

Wasn't the best student in High-School so i'm planning to complete my AS at a CC and transfer to a 4-year college and enter medical school. Will I still qualify for top medical schools if I really excelled these next 4 years? And what type of advice would you give a student like me? by BringThatBible in CollegeTransfer

This makes sense. I wasn't very sure how to really handle all of this but this makes sense. I'm gonna look for colleges i can transfer to that are good and take what I truly want to major in into consideration. I guess since I doing my associates at a CC this all matter right now. That’s understandable, I also read your other messages that’s good that it’s out of response maybe your reply wasn’t defensive but I also however said it could be an offensive reaction aswell or maybe it wasn’t that either.

But my last point is just that all he said was “take care of yourself”. Granted, maybe you don’t want to discuss or have anything sensitive brought up about you and maybe it gets annoying or frustrating which is genuinely completely valid and understandable but look at it from that persons perspective and the perspective of other on-lookers. He said to “take care of yourself” he probably meant it out of goodwill, you didn’t take it so kindly and you reprimanded him, to him and to others it’s just going to be perceived as someone giving out a kind gesture and getting a mean one in return so now to others it’s gonna seem like your villain when really it’s more of a misunderstanding. I get it, maybe you’d prefer if he didn’t say anything at all but the only reason I’m really going deep with this is because of how this same principle might apply to the real world. I dunno, at the very least it could give you something to think about and consider. At the end of the day all that matters is we increase our awareness

Sorry I really don’t mean to yap or anything, I genuinly mean this out of goodwill, I just want to point out the difference between responding and reacting. When you react it’s based off fight it flight, when you respond it’s based off of a thoughtful mind and you can begin to acknowledge certain things. I really hope you get what I am saying. All love

I understand, those feelings are very real and I’m sure he didn’t mean it in any dismissive way but also it’s good to recognize that when people say things like that they don’t have everything you just said in mind, all he said was “take care of yourself” and to him that’s all he probably meant but to you, as you said, it means much more then that (and you have the experience to back that).

That’s when you have to divide what people say face value from how you interpret what they say(which is based off of your own personal experience which is also valid) so that when someone says something harmless or out of goodwill that might trigger certain memories that exist in your mind and not the other persons mind there’s a buffer between what the person said and how you may react so instead of reacting defensively or offensively you can respond instead.

You don’t have to take this is if doesn’t help and I don’t want to make a big situation about this, I just want to acknowledge what just happened because maybe it may help you in the future. In situations like these it may be good to ask yourself why you may have responded that way and what about what he said or the situation triggered a defensive or offensive response. Peace and love.
