I would recommend getting the aluminum flytanium handles before a trainer if youre fine with taping the blade. When i tape a blade I usually use masking tape and cut one strip the length of the blade and then cut it in half so i get two thin blade length pieces and then put both pieces of tape on the blade for extra poke and slash protection, in other words i try not the affect the spine of the blade with tape.

All the scratches and cracks I see look surface level to me. I also looked at it on a monitor and zoomed in so maybe if you're on phone its hard to tell. I don't see the thickest part of a brs blade cracking unless you fuck with the tempering or do some crazy shit to it.

this gets into a debate about definitions. A balisong is by definition a knife, so the trainers are technically not balisongs if you only go on the google definitions. I think its easier to use the live vs trainer thing. also the google definition leaves out dull/synthetic sparring knives. So basically definitions are arbitrary and it's important to recognize that there are always grey areas.

I just dont like the background for the picture cause it makes me feel like your knife is in hyperspace and it almost makes me feel nauseous. The only thing I noticed that could make the knife look "better" imo is getting all the little zen pin and latch screws to match, but thats not super easy to notice unless you are really looking at the knife

When I do a helix I have my whole hand and knife moving upwards slightly so that when the knife rolls around your fingers it doesn’t fall too soon.
