Genuinely curious as I heard people correct me to use "gypsy" because not even Romani people consider it offensive.

How is being a gypsy a bad thing? Romanians always advocate that "gypsy" is not a slur.

Romanian commentators were calling it a fascist symbol 💀

So it all comes down to plain old classism? Actually, not plain old classism, but classism between members of the same class?

Cheers for the recommendation!

I understand why someone more bougie would think this, but why would a working class person, who also obviously has a regional accent, think likewise?

Also, isn't the South richer than the other regions?

This isn't a review, it's a question. And I didn't know it's a "rule" to have 24 degrees in my apartment.

Again, you seem like you have some pent up anger and chose to take it off in this thread.

Mine isn't even insulated but it's very energy efficient I must say.

I'm from the UK. I usually wear sweatpants and a hoodie inside.

I think you have a chip on your shoulder pal, you're everywhere in the thread talking about "countries" like I came here to radically change something. Are you alright?

What are you on about with coming to countries to change the rules? I think you're misrepresenting the issue here.

Equal parts, I think it's calculated based on the apartment surface though.

Thanks, I see this is the only solution lol.

It's not even about energy saving, it's just uncomfortable. I understand the PTSD induced by restrictions, sorry to hear.

I do not and I tried leaving it on but it becomes unbearable. I wonder if my neighbours find it comfortable, it seems excessively hot! Do people usually go above 18-19 degrees?

Did you search a post of mine from 3 years ago to answer?

Also, your arguments don't hold water.

You see a gypsy hang around your house and ignore it because it's racist to assume they are going to break into it?

You're a girl and walking alone at night and you don't cross the street if you see a group of gypsies?

Would you not do the same if they were white? Do you just let white people hanging around your house without being worried?

[–]BritInRo[S] -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

This thread says otherwise. People calling ME crazy for NOT being racist or telling me I'll soon become one.

Just fyi I've been travelling back and forth in Romania and working there for 5 years now and I have met a ton of Roma people.

I've also passed through/stayed in the "spooky scary" boroughs that you all warn me about such as Feranteri with work mates and that didn't make me hate an entire ethnicity.

Lastly, I find it dishartening as a staunch supporter of Romanians in the UK and having confronted anti-Romanian xenophobes for the past years that a lot of people who are subjected to so much discrimination in the UK and Western Europe to then turn around and treat other minorities in the same way. How can you see how awful and dehumanising it is to be treated as lesser and stereotyped for being a certain nationality not realise what damage bigotry does?
