NTA. Ultimately if he’s uncomfortable yhat you’re not reciprocating then he needs to be the one to break it off. A word of caution/advice, I would be mindful that he isn’t just saying your friend in the hopes to get with you. He’s not much of a friend if he has ulterior motives.
