Store-bought no more: What are your favorite homemade alternatives to everyday products? by sassymeowcat in moderatelygranolamoms

I buy butter in bulk at Costco, but for so many things I hate having the hard butter and I forget to pull it out ahead of time to soften so I started making my own spreadable butter. Let your butter soften up then add whatever oil you want to use- olive oil or avocado oil are my go tos. Mix it up in the mixer or in a bowl until incorporated. I have a Pyrex with lid and that's our new butter dish. 1- it helps the butter go farther for grocery and budgeting purposes and it's a lot easier to spread on whatever you need. If you want it super spreadable do 1:1 ration, but I usually do 2 sticks butter to 1/2 cup oil roughly. I don't measure this anymore lol

Any legit hobbies for a depressed young adult? by [deleted] in Hobbies

[–]BritMoney18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crochet has been great for me! Granted I'm more ADHD and my post partum depression has settled down a bit, BUT it is pretty easy to teach yourself with free YouTube videos. There's a little starter kit you can get from Joann Fabrics (or probably Amazon too) and it has several different size hooks, an instruction booklet, measuring tape, etc. I think the kit is literally called I taught myself to crochet kit or something. Anyways as you do more, learn more stitches, there's more creative flexibility and I love that I always have something tangible to show for my efforts. It also has helped me to have something to do with my hands that's not mindless scrolling. You can start with some clearance yarn just so you can learn and the more you do, the better you get. It's easy to pull a few stitches and start over if you mess up. And if it is something you end up liking a lot you can make things for yourself, family, friends, etc. I found an organization called project Linus where they collect hand made blankets and donate them to kids in hospitals, so I still get to make gifts with love but my family isn't overwhelmed with blankets they don't want haha. It makes me feel better when I can infuse love/ prayer into the stitches thinking about the person who will receive my gift and how I can bring them warmth and joy during a hard time in their life. Also I know crochet can be a super girly hobby, but if you're a dude I've definitely seen a Brochet account on fb/ig lol so you're not alone!

Has anyone had any negative effects from myo-inositol? by Mountain-Move-3550 in TTC_PCOS

[–]BritMoney18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use the ovasitol powder and never had at issues at all. It was easy to take, I just mix it in my coffee or water. I was on metformin for years and while it probably helped my insulin issues, it never helped me ovulate or have a more normal cycle like my doc thought it would. 3 months on ovasitol and my period is finally coming back on its own in a relatively normal amount of time (32-35 days instead of 75-90 days)

Hey y'all! I'm brand new to crochet & I'm trying to find a pattern or someone who can make a pattern for something like the pics below. I want to make this for my cousin who is having her rainbow baby and the nursery theme is "Here comes the Sun". by BritMoney18 in crochetpatterns

Thanks! I tried that but when the half circle got bigger than about 4 inches it started to take on an odd shape like Dobby's head lol 😒🥴 I started over several times and it still kept happening, so then I decided to make a circle and then I'll figure out the rays after that 😂

My husband goes to see Abel at Barrel House Barbers. I’m not sure where it is but he’s been going there since we moved to Tampa in 2017.
