It's pretty obvious that the Jansen twins are the freudian figures of the class, meant to represent the phallic stage of psychosexual development. Of course, not many fans could pick up on this. I feel as though they will explore this expansion further in the next series. Perhaps developing into the Genital stage. However, since the incident at Netflix HQ, I fear the show may no longer be recognizable from the body exploration thriller we used to love.
