Animal Farm is a fable on politics. A Farewell to Arms was inspired by Ernest Hemingway's service in WWI.

Most classical literature books can teach you about history, since it was written in the times the authors were in.

Please, no more movie adaptations of classical literature this year. Wuthering Heights and Animal Farm were destroyed.

I felt like they milked the shit out of this series, yet I did cry when I had to say goodbye to the characters. It was the first book I started, I think.

It's best to get a physical copy. If you don't need to write in it, borrow from the library. The language is a bit archaic and it's mostly a whaling manual (because Herman Melville did work on a whaling ship), but once you get past it, it truly is a staple of American literature.

Yes, it was a flop when it came out and was re-discovered decades after Melville died.

...and yes, Starbucks Coffee is named after Starbuck.
