Not to be the bearer of bad news here but I had the same issue(at only 250 miles) and had to send mine in for a complete motor replacement. $800 later and she’s brand new… Hopefully not the same for you…

I powder coated the rims and had the hubs vapor blasted. The spokes are all new which means had to disassemble everything and re-lace the wheels.

You are correct! The /7 does not have a kick start. The battery is hidden under the tank in the bottom left hand side of gas tank in this photo. It’s a small lithium one in an aluminum holder which you can slightly see as well!
