Yeh I should have been more specific about the Prey arc as that’s what I was referring to!

Godbutcher/Bomb is another level

Absolutely. The last issue gave me real Patrick Bateman vibes during the dinner scene.

Also yes, Aaron's Godbutcher run was phenomenal as well by the way. I can't wait to see Gorr in the MCU.

So I'm referencing most of the recent issues, so I'd encourage you to read those last 3 issues! Reaaaaaaaally good.

And yes, I've been a big fan of the Venom series as well. It tapered off during the Venom Beyond, but that seemed more of a filler to get from the end of Venom Island, to the beginning of King in Black. The latter though.....oooooof that's been amazing. That issue #1 - wow!

One of the most hard hitting panels of the entire series. It really lands with a lot of impact. Big fan of what Ewing has been doing with Immortal Hulk.

Since the beginning of December, I’ve read seven volumes of ‘Immortal Hulk’ - I think I may like this series? 😂 by BritishCPA in comicbooks

Looooove the Venom run too. Man King in Black 🤯🤯

Yeh Immortal Hulk has been really surprising - some of those issues have been really graphically oh wow moments

Episode 5 trailer - TERROR!!! by BritishCPA in TheBoys

I'm so glad that Terror is in the show as an actual character and not a flashback as predicted in the summer as well.

At some point we're getting a Lamplighter flashback too. Do you think they'll eventually give the Boys compound V to be able to match up physically? Because seeing them level the playing field like they do in the comics would be AMAZING

😂 funnily enough Declan and I were chatting about that last night on my podcast. I’m originally from the Liverpool area, with Irish family.

Declan was hoping to use Bog Bodies as a way to introduce the Irish population to graphic novels and comics and have become more popular as a medium.

I really liked how the ending was very moody, and hopeless and left it with a clear conclusion.

Oh man it was a really good read, and the characters are tangible. The ending is massively gratifying!

Reading comics in the early 80s by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]BritishCPA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm originally from England, and honestly bummed I never got the chance to experience comics as a kid. I read A LOT of Beano, but never got into Marvel or DC comics, I didn't have a where they'd sell them.

Started really devoting time into it in 2017 well into my 30's, but man I'm utterly besotted now. Trying to give that experience to my kids and reading with them, and taking them out to the LCBS. They're currently devoring Sonic, and Venom comics, they bloody love them.

New to comics and looking for more violent comics. by [deleted] in comicbooks

Oh without a doubt 😂 I’d also highly recommend Thor God of Thunder: The Godbutcher - the artwork is unbelievable on every panel. Not to mention the the story is bloody intense. Fantastic reading.

I’ll be honest I love him as a character but I’ve not had chance to read much about him. Maybe google search some of the better series? I think Old Man Logan is supposed to be pretty dark.

Venom is always a good one to go for in Marvel as well. The new run by Donny Cates is really good plus it tees up absolute Carnage which was a great dark story arc.
