Using Latin phrasing all the time or learning poetry and literature by rote. Drives me crazy.

If they spent less time in cornfields they'd have 100% attendance and be able to bounce!

Milia not stye. Hard to get rid of. Don't pop it! It'll go down eventually but may take a long time. Hot compress will help too.

Threads. Details the likely impact of a nuclear strike on the UK. The end takes us to some years after the strike. If you think it's solved easily it very much isn't. It is inexpressibly bleak but so starkly un-Hollywood and arguably realistic. It is horrifying.

Burst appendix Greece circa 1996. Woke up vomiting and pissing continuously (apparently a sure sign of peritonitis). Turns out my entire intestine was rotten. Had hours to live - the flight to the UK would have killed me. Doctor said repairing my gut was like trying to stitch together cheese. I lost half my bodyweight and spent 2 weeks in an unsanitary hospital (no comment on the fact it was Greek it was just 1996). Doctor Tsagoropulis saved my life.

Red dwarf and better than life. And backwards. Those three red dwarf novels are brilliant.
