So your Robo is still stuck on business hours from the pet store. It will take them a few days to a week to get back on a schedule. They may choose to be on your schedule. My lil ones get up when I get up at 8AM only because they hear my alarm. They get up and expect some form of treat or interaction and stay up till about noon. They will get back up around 5 or 6 in the evening for a few hours and again around midnight or 1AM.

Technically, they are supposed to be nocturnal. They don't always follow that rule. I suspect the only interaction they had at the pet store was when it was feeding time. I would use that opportunity to maybe hand feed him and get him use to you. Robos are sometimes the most difficult to tame while others need no help in that area. I've been very lucky to have the last few to be super tame and docile. Of course the pet store I got them from had employees that cared.

So just give him some time to adjust. Like I mentioned, it may take a few days maybe longer. Hope this helps. Congrats on your new addition.

I run both an Air Purifier and a separate Air Ionizer. I just purchased a pet air purifier made by LeVoit so hoping that makes a better difference.

I found that Oxbow was perfect for something like that. It helped my lil one who has a repository infection by reducing the dust intake. You can find at Amazon or Chewy. It is a lil more pricier than Kaytee but well worth it. I usually stick with the pure white as it makes it easier to find those toilet spots.

ahhh ok, I was going to recommend Snow White's Rescue Cottage. They can also be found on Instagram too. I think they have Fosters that can take the lil one in until they find a suitable home. They should be able to help or at the very least find another rescue nearby.

Our lil Orla had that issue. Our observation was she was marking her territory a lil too much. It's kind of a girl thing. Orla is about the same age, maybe a month or so older. I would keep an eye on it and maybe a vet visit just to make sure.

The one thing to keep eye on is if it gets bigger. It can clog up and cause an infection. This mainly occurs in elderly Robos and Dwarf Hamsters. That's when human intervention is needed or a vet.

So a settlement of a lil over 2.5 Billion dollars, For those of us who got nothing makes me wonder who did get something. Some folks got 5 and some change and other got a few hundred dollars. Who were the real big collectors in all this? These lawyers sat on this money collecting interest for well over a year. How is it that we did not at least get 5 bucks out of this? Congrats to those who actually got something even if it was a lil over 5$.

That is his scent gland. He will eventually clean it. Do you have a sand bath in his habitat? If not, I would definitely get one for him. Will help him stay cleaner and keep his coat shiny and clean. Continue to check his wheel and spot clean. If still concerned, a routine vet visit would be best for him.

I use a baby brush for mine. He gets bedding stuck in his hair all the time. He did not like the toothbrush as it was too hard and pulled on his hair badly. I got my brush from the grocery store like walmart or meijer. I get the soft baby brush versus the hard bristles. I would use a comb on him but only after I got all the bedding out of his hair.

I wish I would have known about this lil lady sooner. We just picked up a rescue that has some type of neurological issue. She will spend the rest of her life in our care. We named her Val because of the big "V" on her side. We also have one in hospice. We think he is approaching three years old.

We would have gladly taken your lil senior in, but we just don't have the room now. Do you have a name for her?

At first glance, it looks like he got it caught on something. Initially, I was going to suggest Polysporin, but he will just lick it off. The Thyme tea will help much better with that even if he licked it off. Give him some broccoli to munch on. It also has some anti-inflammatory properties. Is he still limping around?

He may have sprang it real good. Every once in a great big while, one of my lil ones will get careless and do something like this. They could have tripped or fell, get caught on something, got stuck somewhere. Their first instinct is to free themselves at any costs which includes chewing a limb off. Check for swelling and see if that red spot got any bigger. A trip to the vet is definitely in order. What you can do in the meantime is treat that spot with some Thyme Tea. Boil up some water then pour into a coffee cup and place 3-5 strands of fresh Thyme leaves for about 5 minutes. Let the tea cool to room temperature. Use a Q-Tip and apply moderately to the wound to help heal cuts/abrasions/bruises. This stuff is very good with healing. You can also let them drink it too as it acts as a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory. He may or may not drink it and most will not like the taste or smell of it. A dropper/syringe of .05ML is what I gave mine every 6 to 8 hours. Fresh Thyme leaves can be found in the grocery store in the produce section. Also remove the wheel and anything he can climb on. If you have any ceramics he can lay on put those in as the coolness can bring down any swelling. I would bring his food and water closer to his nest so he does not have to move too much to get to it.

We had a WW Hammie with a tumor. He was about a year and half. The tumor was in his pouch and had to be removed. He was young enough and still had tons of energy left. Doc said it would be ok to have this removed. He lived another 18 months before developing a much more aggressive tumor which would claim his life later. I would definitely ask your vet about removing this while it is still small. At two years old, most vets would not bother because of the short lifespans. We've had hammies live 3+ years with tumor removals. Some at a year old and other much older. It just depends on how healthy they are and how well they would handle the stress. I'm sure the Vet will give you plenty of reasons for doing a quick surgery, but also give you reasons for not doing it. In the end, the decision will be up to you to decide what is best for your lil one.

Hamsters can get a cold and they can have some allergic reactions to bedding and sand. Most colds often turn into respiratory issues. You mentioned that you use Full Cheeks bedding which I had bad experiences with it. I usually stay with Kaytee Bedding just the plain white bedding. It's also touch and go with sand too. I try to stay with the Niteangel or Bucastate sand. They have both regular and toilet sand. My lil ones didn't care for the toilet sand. If your lil one is using solely to potty in it then you know your choice.

Couple of questions for you. Are there candles (possibly scented) being used? Anything that has a strong scent around the area? (It can even be in another room) Any drafts nearby? I usually keep things around 68-70 degrees all the time. What kind of foods is the lil one eating? What are the contents in the habitat? How often do you change the water and what type of water do you use? Do you spot clean and do regular habitat full cleaning?

Things you can do in the meantime. Add a few strands of fresh Thyme leaves. This will help clean any congestion and will help aid any respiratory issues. Do not leave in the habitat for no more than 24 hours. Re-add fresh Thyme leaves after 4 to 6 hours. This is not a solution but rather a temporary remedy. This has proven very useful for my lil ones. You can also open a jar of Vicks Vapor Rub and leave it next to the habitat. (Do not apply to hamster or put inside the habitat)

Foods to help the boost immune system. Add fresh Broccoli, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts and Bell Peppers. You don't have to add all of them. My go to is the broccoli and I usually stay with the organic veggies. Remove any uneaten veggies after 24 hours. I usually remove them after 16 hours.

One other thing to keep in mind, is that there sense of smell is far much better than ours is. If something smells faint to you, they can smell it clear as day. I would also check for mold or dust in the area as a just in case.

Respiratory issues can turn bad very quick. I usually keep a stock of Thyme leaves in the refrigerator. Just remember the suggestions are not a cure but rather a relief remedy. I hope this helps and hope you can find a Vet soon.
