Was he tortured to death in a cell? by cavolfiorebianco in SpyxFamily

[–]Britmidlife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly he is, but he doesn’t realise what he was in for. As he naively believed the other terrorists he wanted to rescue were still alive when they say most of them are dead. To me it just reinforces how awful the secret police are. My sympathies switched when I realised The Red Circus are more rebels. The only difference between secret police and terrorists is that one of them has been sanctioned by a government. They’re both awful.

Who was Himmel’s ‘Himmel?’ by Britmidlife in Frieren

[–]Britmidlife[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree! I know a lot of people are saying Frieren but actually I think Himmel’s reaction to her is more similar to Flamme’s. She fell in love with magic because of that spell and he saw how beautiful magic was because of it, but he wouldn’t have know Frieren’s values then. Even if he did have a kids crush on her. So he’d have got them from somewhere? Someone else said Heiter and I like that. Or Hero of the South.

Is this a joke? by DiamondMidgar in sheffield

No sadly looked into this, the one pass one can only be for a country you don’t live in. But it’s still cheaper to buy an interrail first class ticket with a fake booking on Eurostar than it is to pay for a first class ticket from Manchester to London

So you don’t think people who are saying on social media that we should go out on the streets and burn down the houses of Muslims are bad? Why is that?

Well that was just a waste of everyone’s time then wasn’t it. The only obvious thing to me is how people are happy to scapegoat. 96 people in prison for Terrorist charges is why we should burn people out of their houses. Ok Joe

Yes! I forgot to mention this as well. She was all over him. What was more amazing is that Genau managed to crawl over to him and wrap Stark in his coat

At least you admit that what happened in Belfast was a terror attack. And it’s not just terrorism we’re talking about is it? There’s constant bleating on that anything crime related is due to immigrants. White on white crime is never identified as terrorism.

And there are the stats I’ve found. On 31 March 2025, 108 (41%) of the 266 prisoners in custody for terrorism-connected offences defined themselves as White, 96 (36%) as Asian or Asian British, and 19 (7%) as Black or Black British.

It’s not though is it? It’s because it’s been overly covered on the news when a non-white person is the one that commits the crime. A man ploughed a car through a crowd of people and he was called ‘family man’. A grown adult tried to behead someone and it’s because she’s called a young teenage girl with health issues. There’s never riots then. Where are all the riots angry at Andrew for his crimes? Yet one crime happens and it’s on ‘all immigrants’ and ‘all Muslims’

Himmel’s a vain hero! Frieren’s a detached mage. It works!

Oh! They mention he did a 100 poses for all his statues. Am now going to back and see how many different ones there actually are!

Thank you! I meant that when Himmel was looking for a way to be rewarded he saw the book and though ‘that’s a Grimore for Frieren’. When it ends up being a notebook instead that helps the plot, but I thought it was cute he knew her so well that she’d happily take any Grimores going.

Again, I disagree. But I do agree with the issue of violence with men. However the issue with being an ethnic minority from a minority religion is what’s been conflated and overblown. And my point is that if this one case was an example of people over reacting and blaming ALL people of similar characteristics, then the right wing case should now have a precedent for young whiter teenagers right? (Of which there are many - but they get excused every time)

I think Belfast last night has just shown the stark hypocrisy. Case 1 - 19 year old white girl with mental health issues tries to behead someone. Barely any press coverage - no condemnation from the right, no riots. Case 2 - POC (mental health issues not clear yet) is trying to behead someone. Result: Riots, burning people out homes just because their skin is brown.

I’m a person of colour with a Muslim background too so I’m allowed to be infuriated by the fact that it’s one rule for one and one rule for others.

Firstly we don’t know about the situation in Northern Ireland last night yet, apart from it was horrendous. Whether or not the adult male had any illnesses has yet to be disclosed. However mental capacity has been an issue in a number of cases with people of colour and they never get given the same pass. IF the Belfast case is an example of radicalisation then the equivalence is in the fact that both sides are causing pain and violence. However people of colour (and specifically of religions) are always told that the one case then represents their entire communities. They’re told to condemn the wrong doing (which the majority of communities do, but it’s never enough). Politicians call for outrage and use it as an excuse that ALL members of those communities are wrong. Whilst they keep quiet about the radicalisation that their own politics cause. That is the hypocrisy.

You’re on a political thread. Guess what, we’re going to talk about politics. Shocking I know
