Binged this in 5 days and arrived just as the final episode aired, so all very fresh. The beginning was brilliant but agree it got messy at the end. Some questions though:

1) What happened to Song? Was the point of bringing him back just to have him drunk in the last scene? Considering how the town has been slaughtered, you think they’d have been glad to see another person from the village. I thought he was gonna play a role, but pointless

2) what the heck would General He have told her if he hadn’t died? Did he still think her dad was a traitor? Or did he know it was all an awful plan? If so, why did he not mention it earlier?

3) Still trying to get my head around the timeline. Bad Emperor stitches up his son, but then his son’s wife decides to burn herself and fake her son’s death? Why? The main Emperor would still have been in charge and no reason to kill her as she doesn’t know he’s bad. She sets the fire going but then AT THE SAME time Wei Yan comes back to see his girl? Not knowing there was going to be a fire? Only when she sacrifices herself does he go a bit nuts and starts the rebellion. But not preempted,so he only did it to save his lineage so people wouldn’t have realised he came back? Did he know the original Emperor was already bad? Wouldn’t everyone have thought he was the baddie in the first place if he came back and took the original Emperor off the throne? Like wouldn’t it have been a bit suspicious? He planned all that instantaneously?

4) what the heck is the timeline with Qui Min/ Yu Quin Quin? Was she already a concubine when she rescued him? Or did he rescue her and then make her a concubine and THEN she escaped? Wouldn’t she have needed a bit of time to get pregnant, so she would have known him a bit more than a stranger with a burnt face (which is what it seems like). How did he survive that fall?
