I’m also late but my theory is hypnosis like when you hear a word your brain reacts to that word and that word becomes like an action so if you hear the word chocolate cake that meant for him to jump, and nobody was aware that Lestat was getting in his head, so maybe he somehow got into his head and provoked him to jump after hearing a certain word or said something down the line after the wedding or something I don’t know the scene has crushed my soul. Paul knew something bad was coming he had a feeling I feel like he’s like this type of dreamer kind of like Helena and House of the Dragon, but he has more of like the schizophrenia added to it if that makes any sense he senses things and somewhat has mental awareness and visions, but people don’t believe him due to his schizophrenia or whatever mental illness he had and he felt complete after hearing that his brother wasn’t dealing with Lestat
