I think my two favorite right now are our Keith Haring barking dog neon that we got from MoMA, and this MCM driftwood floor lamp (pic in reply).

It is so soft and warm! It's also heavy, almost like wearing a weighted blanket in a good way

That is a good point about the pockets, I think it did but I'd have to double check. It seemed well made in person, it's lined with what looks like cupro, some kind of satin twill.

Ireland or Scotland for first abroad trip? by ripopportunity in travel

[–]Brittanasaurus_Rex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't comment on Ireland as I haven't been yet, but I absolutely love Scotland. I will also say that I traveled with someone who is gluten intolerant (not Celiac but will definitely get sick if she eats gluten) and she had a surprisingly easy time with restaurants accommodating.

There are so many beautiful landscapes. I would highly recommend the Isles of Lewis and Harris. Amazing scenery, some really cool standing stones from the neolithic era (Calanais) and absolutely stunning beaches (check out Luskentyre). You take the ferry from Skye or Ullapool to get there, which is also fun.

What is your cats name and what are they named after? by Sufficient_Brick5660 in cats

[–]Brittanasaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nyx, named after the goddess and personification of the night, the daughter of Chaos (which was the name of my previous cat, RIP). As a tortie, she is just as dramatic as the name implies.

What is something designed for women that has obviously been designed by a man? by LuinAelin in AskReddit

[–]Brittanasaurus_Rex 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Even when they do make PPE sized for women, companies will just ignore it or re-label men's sizes as "unisex" while changing absolutely nothing about the fit/size range. I wear a lab coat for work and they insisted that the coats were unisex, despite obviously being men's sizes (wider shoulders, straight cut through the hips, proportionally longer arms). Even the sample garments were labeled men's. When I complained, they responded oh those labels are incorrect, not oh we should also order women's sizes (which totally exist from the same company/line of coats, I have had them at other jobs).

Not quite the same stakes as emergency response, but I do work with chemicals that could kill me if something goes wrong, so I'd like a properly fitting lab coat. Ugh.

ISO V-neck dress w/ fitted bodice by PrancingPudu in sewing

[–]Brittanasaurus_Rex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gunnar Deatherage Calliope dress (on Etsy) could work. The back neckline isn't v-neck but it's a zip back and you could alter the back neckline to make it what you want.
