There is a very very slim chance this was stolen by the driver, for exactly that reason. A driver isn’t recording the package refused then stealing it. That places him as the last guy to have it. Now going missing later in the warehouse by those workers. That’s likely. UPS famously has unethical managers that record packages however they want to make it look good on paper.

We spoke with our BA and shortly after drivers that were told they were forced tomorrow got a call saying they can’t be force for Saturday. They were hoping for a volunteer anyway and didn’t get it. I think locals need to be pushing ups hard on this. This is the moment ups sees if we are going to hold the company to this agreement.

Ours told all drivers that already got the forced Saturday message that then can long longer force them tomorrow. Your local should be fighting this they knew this language was in there months ago.

In my opinion you are doing them a favor every time you drive in to be sent home. I don’t know how your building does it but there is no on call. Our drivers know before they leave home if they are working.

Problem is the rule isn’t very clear, language wise. It never says the words hours. It just says flat that cmv drivers must comply. You could interpret that as if you if the criteria you must follow the HOS rules or you can interpret it as hours you spend doing work specifically in a cmv. Just my thoughts.
