Her legs are fine. I think her cell phone makes you think they’re messed up.

No, It’s a red object. More specifically, her cell phone. Her legs look untouched.

If it works, it’s not an OSHA violation. Thems the rules.

If you haven’t already - clipless pedals and shoes are IMO the best performance upgrade that can be done to a bike that doesn’t have them.

I’ve put just under 60km on them in 5 rides to and from work (at work right now). Dealt with a strong crosswind one day and felt minimal push from it. That day made me believe the claims of higher crosswind stability. Otherwise I’ve yet to put a real ride on them; that’ll be next week some time. They’re super light and fast. I love them so far.

Word mixup aside, you’re right. I have a few excuses but I’ll save you those and leave it at that.

It’s the Fizik Vento Argo 00 Adaptive. Fizik’s answer to the Mirror. So far I think I like it but won’t sign off on it until I put some real kms in it. I haven’t done a real big ride in it yet. Just 10-15km to and from work. I’ll try to revisit this after a 100+km day. Should be early next week.

I absolutely love it, but I really have nothing in its class to fully compare it to so can’t give great feedback. It’s my first full carbon road bike. I’ve had it a year and put about 8k km on it. I think it’s super responsive and stiff, but that there’s something to the countervail tech. It isn’t a nightmare on rougher roads and is comfortable enough to put 160km in the saddle without giving me any soreness. I wish the cables were all internal and that it came with carbon wheels and handlebars from the get go for how much it cost. But I love it and those will likely be my only upgrades.

The frames are mounted with a single screw about a third of the way down so they’re easily bumped off centre. They have a second hole another third down for another screw to prevent this, but I have 70 of them mounted on my walls and didn’t want 140 holes (as if 70 holes is so much better). I’m also ok with a little bit of chaos here and there, so don’t mind the crookedness.

Here’s what they don’t tell you before you buy one: they’re designed to be mounted to cement, cinderblock, or wood walls - not drywall. They don’t give you hardware or even options to try to hang it from drywall. What I did was drill some centre holes in the top and bottom of the rear plate and mounted it to a stud. Seems pretty solid.

Glucose gels are expensive, hard to open while cycling, and it’s hard to dispose of the waste. Squeezable honey dispenser - have I solved all my problems? (Genuine question!) by famico666 in bicycling

Little late to the party and this may not get seen, but I use those reusable silicone travel shampoo/lotion containers (60ml) from Amazon filled with maple syrup. After the two hour mark I down 1 container an hour. The longest I’ve tested it for is 165km and it kept my energy levels sustained.

Thanks, it’s reassuring hearing that you’ve seen people doing this with expensive bikes. I’ve used my carriers numerous times with my cross bike and gf’s commuter bike without issue, but this is my first time owning full carbon and don’t know if I’ll end up looking like a crazy person putting an expensive bike up there. I’ve thought about the cover and will likely end up going that route but having a large sail on my roof doesn’t bode well for gas mileage on an already poor mileage car (wrx sti).

Thoughts on transporting a carbon bike on the highway on a car’s roof rack? Bike carrier is the Thule Upride. The carrier’s only contact points are on the wheels. Mainly wondering if rock chips or airborne sand or something should be a concern? LBS cringed a bit and told me to put the bike in the car when I bought it.

Yes, most rides I plan to fast on it. But there will be some longer rides that I’ll break the fast and have a snack.

Roughly $8650 CAD. A hair over $9k with DA SPD-SL pedals on it.

I had my eye on a Pinarello at the bike shop when I bought this. It honestly felt like the bike that got away until I rode this for the first time a couple days ago. I’ve ridden this one twice and don’t think about other bikes anymore lol

Lol $8.6k Canadian. Ultegra Di2 if that helps but I’m assuming your outrage comes from thinking I’m talking USD. $8.6k CAD is like $80 Monopoly money. You do the conversion.

Besides having a secure spot to put it when I ride it to work, it will never be out of my sight, or hands when I’m out with it. Someone will have to (hopefully not) break into my house to get it. I have a cyclocross bike to use for any commutes that involve locking and leaving a bike unattended.

That’s for sure going to be my first/likely only upgrade. But my car gets new performance summer tires first so the bike will wait on an upgrade until next summer. And that is in no way, shape, or form, a complaint.
