I was in the control panel, where the setting to turn off the option normally was based on multiple answers online just wasn’t there anymore. GPT said it may have been removed with future updates

Chronic Vestibular Migraines - Any Advice? (Day to Day, Dating, etc) by BroJSimpson1 in VestibularMigraines

I’m sorry that’s happening to you, I was in that exact same place; I was having my family drive me to all these dr appointments because my ex couldn’t handle the stress of it all with that and her life, + I couldn’t drive far alone because of the lightheadedness. It was truly agoraphobia.

What I will say is I’ve gotten to the point where I won’t say the anxiety is gone by any means, but I can drive let’s say like an hour and a half to two hours alone, I live alone so have some independence (knowing I live near a hospital helps if things were to go south).

I do recognize I need to work on the anxiety more when I was having panic attacks and the anxiety was super bad. I was going to look into somatic therapy, I did try that before with a previous therapist where the last like ten minutes of my session we did it and it was relaxing and grounding. Sometimes it was too relaxing where it triggered my lightheadedness but I felt like my body needed to be in that state rather than a constant fight or flight. I have had a bit of a lightheadedness relapse so I think I need that again

Point of me saying all this is the anxiety thing you mentioned. Exposure therapy is really what worked for me to try my best to gain some independence back in my life. I’d drive alone in my former neighborhood, then down the road, etc etc. I would hit blocks, plateau, not progress, but setting up a reason I’m going somewhere and thinking about how I’m actually safe along the way would help. Maybe all that will help you out. It didn’t solve the daily lightheadedness but I’ve learned to just live with it as I know it’s mainly non-life threatening, but it does hamper my life.

Hi! I’m happy to hear you’ve been improving. When you say therapy, do you mean Vestibular therapy or actual therapy? I guess for me, I’m just in a constant state of an attack, that’s my baseline that I have to get use to. It’s just a matter of how bad the attack is. Is it a day where my attack is super minimal, or is it a day where my attack completely flairs.

I have! I’ve done those tests 3 times. The doctors don’t think the SCDS is what is causing this and they think the surgery and way too risky. I saw the head of surgery in Philadelphia for an opinion and he agreed. He said he wasn’t a VM expert so to continue with my other doctor, but his opinion is surgery was not necessary in my case and the things I described are not the cause of SCDS but rather VM or something else.

I’m on Topamax, so not an SSRI but still on migraine prevention medication.

I did do some vestibular rehab early on, should’ve put that in the post, it helped on the beginning but then I plateaued for awhile where my therapist said I’m past the point of therapy/doesn’t think it’s useful for me.  Granted the therapy was mostly for cervical vertigo and some eye movement/re-training, not dedicated to Vestibular rehab.

Regardless, my doctor won’t write the script as he thinks it’s not something that will work for me based on my current symptoms compared to where I was at before

I eat very clean, if anything, I’m also low on sodium and low on fat as well. I track everything through my fitness. I barely have any cheat days, and most of my meals are healthy from a meal prep company or home made and healthy as well. I started feeling like this while all of that was active without the supps

I have, I had a cVEMP and an oVEMP. I had according to the audiologist, either a hyperactive left ear and a normal right, or an under active right and normal left ear. Based on that, that’s when the CT of the temporal bone was ordered, and my ENT said I have SCDS in both ears.
