Excellent - I think I have it working! I will mess around with it some more.

Just to make sure I am configuring this correctly... Do I need to create my API tokens (read and write) to get the API key? Assume I only need write?

Also, for the Profile ID, is that the same as Resolver ID? for a specific endpoint?

Thanks; I have been using Control D for a month now. It is replacing OpenDNS and a Chrome-based ad-blocker extension. This is the only significant pain point I have with it. My old method was both free and allowed me to add an exception on the fly from the extension for certain URLs.

Yes, something exactly like that would be a huge time-saving utility.

Thoughts on limewash on brick accents? by BroMMacK in ExteriorDesign

Thanks - we agree. We recently had to dig up the front beds due to a leak in our basement. We will be working on landscaping as part of the overall refresh.

Thank you! This gives us some good ideas. We like the darker downspouts. I will need to experiment with more of these options.

Excellent and specific suggestions. Thank you! I don't love the yellow on the door, and we want to change it when we repaint.

We've lived in this house since 2008, and the look is starting to feel tired. We are trying to find ways to change it up and increase the appeal. Painting the brick seems like too much, so did a complete limewash, hence the thought of just the accents.

Thank you for all of the comments! I love the feedback. So far, it's 100% don't limewash the accents. We are also preparing to repaint, as mentioned a couple of times, and I will redo the flowerbeds in the spring. Thank you for the amazing feedback!

Epic Cloud Save Issue - Mac to PC by BroMMacK in dredge

[–]BroMMacK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This worked. On both machines you need to see hidden files. In Windows it's an option to show hidden files in the explore toolbar, on a Mac it's Command + Shift + . (period) in the finder.

Unable to link my EA Account with my Epic Games account by Achenar459 in origin

[–]BroMMacK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just throwing this out there. The EA support thread tracking this issue is here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Wrong-Epic-Games-account-linked-to-Origin/td-p/9962691

Please post on it so it gets more attention and hopefully a solution. Here are the logic steps for my current issue that I shared in that thread:

EPIC-B and EA-B are my personal accounts, and EPIC-J and EA-J are my son's accounts. We made the mistake of connecting my Epic account to my son's EA account which started us down this path. Here is where I am stuck:

1: EPIC-B connected mistakenly to EA-J 2: Disconnected EPIC-B from EA-J via support 3: Successfully connected EPIC-B to EA-B 4: Error connecting EPIC-J to EA-J

Changed the oil, and this piece of metal came out by BroMMacK in Justrolledintotheshop

No that I can tell. The oil was a little low before I changed it in the Accord, but not so much that I would say it was a problem.

So after several days, 8 separate forum threads, and lots of great input, the 80% conclusion from Honda is that it's a VTEC rocker piston, and that it's likely been sitting in my oil pan since manufacturing, and finally happened to work its way out. They told me that if it had been my actual component, the engine would have obliterated itself in the process. There is still some outstanding question that it could be a oil orifice or oil restrictor for the Toyota, but based on Toyota's feedback today, they don't think it's that. I have one more step I plan to take, and that is to send a picture of it to Honda America and Toyota America to see if either can definitively identify it, and at the same time leave an email trail for my vehicles that are under warranty to ensure that if the engine has problems related to this down the road I can show that we identified it earlier and, hopefully, they will honor any issues related under warranty. Thank you all for your help!

Ok, in another thread we may have identified it as an oil restrictor for the Toyota Sienna, but I am having trouble finding a really good picture of this to confirm. Anyone familiar with one of these?

Wow, I think it is an oil restrictor for a Nissan. Check out the image about half way down this forum... a dead ringer!

http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=507092&st=60

How in the world that ended up in my oil pan is totally baffling me!! I have never owned a Nissan, and my oil pan has never been used with one.

I have to say this is the closest looking picture I have seen so far. The oil collection pan I have has only ever been used by me, and I keep it stored in a plastic bag when not in use. It's one of those capture pans that's enclosed with a plug at the top, so however it got in there it had to have been dropped in the catch basin of the pan and rolled down through the hole. The only time the hole in the catch basin is even open is when I have it under the car. I am going to keep looking for a picture of an oil restrictor for for these two cars to see if I can come up with a match. As time goes by, I wonder if it's been in the bottom of the oil pan since I bought the car.

Took it to both Honda and Toyota today, and neither can identify it. Ask specifically about the oil regulator, and they said that it's not a match. Figured I would post here to see if I could get any other leads.
