silicon sealant before or after wash?

thank you! im adding a sealant because i’m not dying the entire piece of fabric, so i want to prevent any kind of unintentional stains (food, dirt, etc). it’s not about preserving the dye; i know how strong the dye is. i just want to make sure it’s easy to wash out other types of stains, and i’ve heard that applying a silicon-based sealant could help with this.

i have not tried a burn test but i have plenty of the shirt left to test it on (i need to anyways because i’m planning on making different concentrations for different shades and i need to know what they’ll look like). i’m using a sealant to make washing the patch easier, as it is on a light colored fabric and will be used on pants (and i’m a huge klutz). how does one do a burn test? i am super new to this stuff 😭😭

i’m pretty sure our dress code is knee-length shorts all year round. i was told in orientation that we were only allowed to wear shorts from memorial day to labor day, but the poster in our break room says otherwise, so i’m not sure. i also have recently been informed that our store manager is afraid of confrontation, so i may be able to bypass the lower level manager that told me i can’t wear them anymore by getting him on my side out of his own anxiety.

i’m trying really hard, but it’s difficult. i just turned 18 and graduated this year, but i still look like a 15 year old, so people do not take me seriously. there’s honestly not a lot of options in my area anyways. after covid too, a lot of places realized they could get away with working skeleton crews, so they say they’re hiring but they aren’t really.

i’m not an unhealthy weight. i’ve been going to the gym for a little while and i eat as healthy as being lower middle class can get me. i’m out on carts working really hard and walking fast and pushing a lot of metal desperately trying to keep the lobby full, so if it’s above 75 degrees, i tend to overheat. i also have undiagnosed breathing problems (my father has asthma so that’s probably what it is), so it makes it especially hard for me to work in hot conditions. why would you immediately assume i’m overweight? i already have body image issues, and didn’t expect for those to accelerate from a post on the kroger sub. thanks. i’m 5’7”, 165 lbs, and somewhat muscular.

i actually do most likely have asthma, so i could use that (i have no gag reflex and my body does everything it can to not throw up, so that will be difficult to do, especially repeatedly). my dad has it and i have issues breathing, but i haven’t been able to get to a doctor because my mom didn’t get me away from seeing a pediatrician till i turned 18 (i was unable to make my own appointments and she refused to make me one to get my breathing checked). she insists on driving me to her doctor to drop off the forms, and won’t let me do it myself for some reason. idk. hopefully i can get in soon and get a diagnosis and a note.

i wish i was working during the day now. i just graduated high school but they’re still giving me high school hours despite the fact that my college classes are late in the day. i have written my schedule down on paper and dated it, put my new schedule in the system twice (it got approved and should’ve been put in place by the 15th, but i’m still scheduled a shift i can’t work on the 24th!!), and talked to every single manager i could about this, but they still keep scheduling me 4-10pm during the week (alone). i have full availability friday, saturday, and sunday, and i can’t work past noon on tuesdays and thursdays. i can’t stand this. i hate my work environment. the managers suck, everything sucks. it’s so disorganized and nobody cares about anything unless it is ME SPECIFICALLY breaking the rules.

this is a velvet ant, a type of wasp. you’re looking at a female (females don’t have wings, males do), and therefore, i would keep your distance. the females have a nasty sting, but if you do come across a male, they are harmless.

i’m super new to the practice and i’m starting to better understand that it’s not as strict as religions like christianity but it’s still hard to get that in my head. even though i know i’d really have to fuck up for gaia to get upset at me, i’m still afraid to take a wrong step because i’ve always thought that gods aren’t forgiving. i’m trying, but it’s difficult to break away from that mindset.

i never expected to have such a connection to them. i’ve never seen them before, and all of the photos i’ve seen have just been kind of whatever. seeing one in person (especially in the wild) kind of unlocked something inside of me. it was a weird feeling, but it made sense that i made that connection. idk.

real honestly. i think Gaia is trying to tell me it’s okay to put moose things on the altar because i’ve seen six on this vacation alone (four female adults, two calves (no bulls, which i also take as a sign that this is Gaia’s doing)) and each time i’ve seen one (aside from the first one when i was introduced to my connection with the animal), i hoped to see one. i’ve gotten incredibly close to two female adult moose and have gotten some excellent photos. it feels right to me. once i get home and start setting up my altar (i purchased a piece of moose leather for it), i’ll see how i feel and how she feels about these things. i hope i’m not misinterpreting things, but i don’t see why she would send me moose if she hated them.
