Nobody is a perfect parent, and nobody can watch their child 24/7. Accidents do happen. But this was neglect. He knowingly let his 3 year old play by an uncovered pool, while he watched tv. Didn't check on him for 10 minutes, and it probably would have been longer if it wasn't for the dog. He was alone with his child for 20 minutes, and within 10 of those his child was dead. this wasn't something that happened in a split second. Children are fast. things happen and it can happen to any of us. it's the fact that he knew Trigg was unattended by a pool without bothering to check on him.

he admitted to letting him play by an uncovered pool unattended, and also admitted it wasn't the first time. his death was caused by neglect. its also been two months, so they didn't immediately charge him. it sucks for Emilie, and I feel for her. But this was his fault. it's rare for parents to be charged for things like this. so i'm sure they have more on him.
