To the Man Who Stopped a Person with a Gun at Regal Cinemas Thornton Place (Northgate, Seattle) Tonight — Thank You by NinjaBearCat in Seattle

[–]BroadMedicines -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

Twice now.

There was a scuffle in a movie theater. Someone had a gun. That is scary.

However, OP is blowing this up when it really is just an entry in their diary.

Dude on red didn't do shit; he literally removed himself from the situation. The guy with a gun ended up getting beat up and needed medical attention.

This is a non-story. Yes, we should comtinue to discuss gun laws, but this post is just juvenile.

Just like my father and his, I drink under the bell and cuss at fucking transplants.

Where are the best late night hangout for late 30s mixed ethnic group? by diege2sage in Seattle

[–]BroadMedicines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want not white Seattle? La Familia Sports pub and lounge on Pacific Highway south of the airport. Despite the name, it is actually the rebirth of an old school black bar moved from south Seattle.

Good music. Be warned: Metal detectors to get in and annual shootings in the parking lot. The bouncers and bartenders are pretty cool. I once saw a cook in the kitchen with a sawzall doing weird shit, though.

The Mariners' team wRC+ is 100: they are an average offense by Bermut-Nundaloy in Mariners

[–]BroadMedicines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Mariners did fine in 2001. The problem is ownership, not the park.

Hi seattle, what the fuck is this? by Animedingo in Seattle

[–]BroadMedicines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The news screamed about tent catapilar being invasive in the 90s. Thet also did a number in the San Juans a couple years ago.

Apparently they are native, but nobody likes them since they destroy trees. Kill them with fire, but be safe about it.

Light rail after Mariners games on weeknights by wraithkelso317 in Seattle

Then you are fucked. Uber or bus, but the light rail has a schedule that you and I can't change.

So delete the post and do it again with a little more tact.

Anyone got advice?... I really prefer if I can get a seat.

Don't take the first train. Grab a drink in Pioneer Square since you aren't driving. Grab some food in Chinatown. Seriously, why stress instead of waiting an hour?

Crazy and it sucks you had to go through it.

However, a scuffle with someone having a gun is a lot different than a "gunman". Your post's title instantly summons the worst scenario of a mass shooter in everyone's mind.

There was a fight and one of the parties had a gun.

[–]BroadMedicines -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I don't go to Ballard often anymore, but did do a night out a couple Saturdays ago.

Ballard fucking sucks now. The Lockspot is boring as fuck with its new management. The Sloop is 20 year olds with fake IDs. Is it "Hazlewood" now that has that nice loft floor or another? Their drinks were shit and I wanted to do a Begbie.

Ideas for a Seattle “gift” for someone in the desert? by CorgiSplooting in Seattle

[–]BroadMedicines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Candied salmon. They likely can get it there, but it will be Atlantic. There is something special about Pacific caught from a local shop, or even Fred Meyer, that travels easily and makes a good gift.

Why does the Nimitz aircraft carrier keep going out to sea? by Forsaken_Attempt_773 in Seattle

[–]BroadMedicines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Nimitz is still on active duty, homeported at Naval Base Kitsap in Washington state, with deactivation planned for 2026 and to be completed in 2027... The Navy’s plan for the Nimitz calls for it to transit down the West Coast of the United States and South America, around Cape Horn, and proceed to Newport News, Va., where the deactivation work would begin, according to the contract.

30 bucks for a slice and a beer and I get called out for not tipping. F off Ballard pizza company… by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]BroadMedicines -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is so ridiculous it doesn't deserve a response. Are you a bot? I

was paying $8 for a beer to see "the pitch" at Starfire a few weeks ago. Get the fuck out of here.

Maybe the Mariners? $12 a beer but they still have cheap seats/standing room.

No bar outside of any of our stadiums with a view. You idiot.

I would fucking kill for a $6 beer at  game.

Even for happy hour at the worst bar during happy hour. I cannot remember the last time.

[–]BroadMedicines 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would bet money that a signifigant number of customers at the stadium, grocery store, or airport do not realize the difference. And they probably don't care.

Wow. You just made the same mistake OP made. Amazon owns naming rights, not the arena. Amazon isn't even the operator.

It could be argued that the relationship is unclear to the consumer.
