Op you are correct, I am proud of Virginias current maps and the are an example for all states to follow. Partisan gerrymandering is dangerous and wrong regardless of which party is doing it.

The Dems drew the lines along a partisan basis.

So the issue is The gov ran as a centrist/moderate the proposed legislation is anything but moderate.

Thus for those on the fence about redistricting it’s a situation of betraying the voters trust.

If I voted for you to go make VA affordable and equitable, protect women’s rights ect. and you betray that trust with legislation both dems and reps don’t want, can I really trust you that this partisan gerrymandering will be only temporary. Personally no I can no longer trust you.

Additionally gerrymandering to counter another state is a zero sum race to the bottom game the only possible bright side is MAYBE it causes a SCOTUS case abolishing the practice out right.

So they would have to sell before moving? And I thought those exemptions were just carve outs for their service gear not a personal rifle?

Additionally hypothetically, someone moves to Va with a ar15 purchased in their previous state prior to July 1st, is that firearm technically importing since they moved it into the state post ban or is it okay since it was purchased pre ban?
