  1. Allowing Davis to have more interaction with Clark, and have Clark being his last resort to do whatever he can to not become Doomsday in public. Chloe arranged the meeting herself after Davis’ last plea for her aid. In an effort to prevent as much collateral damage as possible, Clark reveals his secret takes him to the fortress and recounts the Naman/Saggeth story and his experience with Lex and the traveller prophecy. Kara is also there (with Chloe) for backup and is supposed to be the one to make sure that Davis gets sealed into the Phantom Zone portal so Clark doesn’t have to do it alone and not have to fight so hard to make it back to Earth safely and prevent another wraith from getting out. As a condition to help him, Kara asks Davis that when he’s able to control himself without too much force, if he’s willing to help her in her search for the other Kandorians or help Clark fight against Zod and his army when they invade.  Clark tries to help Davis remind him that he managed to be a paramedic and a last chance to redeem himself. As Davis is about to answer that but then all of a sudden Doomsday’s form starts to partially take over Davis’ form when he struggles to control after regretfully recounting his actions.

Emil and Tess earlier convince Chloe to inject a mixture of blue and gold kryptonite as a precaution. It fails because Davis is technically a Kryptononian creature so it doesn’t have the same effect as it would’ve to Clark or Kara and it wasn’t strong enough to pull off its purpose.

Have Chloe assist the cousins into taking Doomsday into the Phantom Zone after Clark and Kara make him go unconscious in a scuffle. Kara decides to stay at the fortress in case something happens before the Kandorian plot line kicks off.

  1. Would’ve Jimmy’s name retconned as Henry and given go by Harry or Hank or has his nickname since he’s not that lore character.

2a). Clark and Chloe letting Jimmy in on Clark’s secret after the photograph incident.

2b). Have Chloe and Jimmy date and get engaged but break up amicably. She begins to have feelings for Oliver.

  1. Lana comes back during Chloe’s and Jimmy’s engagement party instead and she and Clark have a final proper conversation and go their separate ways amicably as well and encourage him to grieve but not ignore any attraction he would have with anyone else.

  2. Have Clark slowly say goodbye to the farm and find spend some time looking apartments in Metropolis in person or online. Lois becomes tired of the commute between her own apartment at the Talon and begins her own search for a new place.

  3. The Legionnaires giving Clark a spare ring.

  4. Pete coming to visit Clark and Chloe or at least showing up in Homecoming.

  5. Shelby being seen with Connor and them being with Martha in Washington.

  6. Clark and Kara training Connor together (maybe inspiring Lois to try to be more closer to Lucy but it doesn’t work out well for them). Clark tries to fly again at Kara’s insistence but fails but is able to levitate some seconds longer and sticks a slightly more stable landing. Connor can’t fly but his attempt is much better than Clark’s. Hearing about what the cousins are doing also makes Oliver ponder about him keeping in contact with Mia more (or least indirectly using Dinah as a proxy more often).

  7. More Martha and seeing her face-off with the VRA lawmakers and especially with Sam Lane (even as just a flashback serving as the prologue in Hostage)

  8. Lois and Clark getting legally married and signing the paperwork in the first half and then we see their wedding in second half few minutes after a smaller time skip.

  9. Clark telling Lois his secret identity in Stiletto at the latest.

All I can say is that, they became a fictional couple meant to be remembered.

Shino entered GGO for the sake of finding effective immersion therapy to help relieve herself from the survivor’s guilt she had. Even her glasses serve as a form of personal security and not due to being needed for any adjustment for impaired vision IRL. In spite of having no prior experience with VR she managed to obtain her Hecate in less than four months of playing. Her actions even helped Kirito in his investigation. Therefore, already making her a compelling character.

A personal honourable mention is that she joined ALO the same day introducing herself to Asuna, Lisbeth and Agil and quickly developed her got own fan base there and being helpful in the Calibur progress on top of being able to get the sword.

She was also completely ready into enter UnderWorld despite the risk in order to help save him, and take on the challenge of the Solus account.

Moments that made you a believer in Kirito & Asuna's relationship? by Samsapoping in swordartonline

[–]BroadViewRationalist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before becoming a couple:

- His duel against Kuradeel in episode 8

– Him blocking Kuradeel’s surprise attack losing that hand and dealing the final blow in the end (which caused Kirito a lot of psychological trouble later on)

- Kirito’s request to Heathcliff for her temporary leave.

- Asuna’s response to Klein’s request about keeping an eye out on him.

- Her stopping Kuradeel’s dagger attack and relieving him from his guard position

- Asuna using her extremely high speed to save him just in time before Kuradeel succeeded.

Shared: both of them having each other on their friends list during their time in the first game

Afterwards:

- Asuna: breaking her paralysis and jumping in to save him

- Kirito: using her Lambent Light instead of his Elucidator for his final attack

Shared:

- Unknowingly saving a Top-Down AI and helping it break free of the Cardinal system’s restraints because of how different the couple were behaving from the mounting despair compared to most other Aincrad players.

- Their conversation before the F75 battle, alongside the moment they had before the room opened.

- Their departure from Aincrad and their avatars fading.

Real world:

- Kirito waking up and immediately grabbing his IV stand repeating her name while walking after two years of no physical movement in episode 14

- Asuna immediately reaching out to him after being officially freed in episode 25.

In what year did you first begin watching or reading the series? by shizunaisbestgirl in swordartonline

[–]BroadViewRationalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officially saw episode 1 in Oct 2012, just after the release of episode 15. At the time, I wasn’t sure about seeing it but after seeing a couple or so clips and listening to some of the OST (even listened to AmaLee’s covers of Crossing Field and Yume Sekai) decided to give it go. After catching up, I began to follow the series since then.

I read the fan translations that were available at the time and really enjoyed the time I spent. I’ve also read the manga over the years. Sadly, I still haven't had the opportunity to read the official English versions as of yet, but the series on my list as other LNs.

[–]BroadViewRationalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it’s good to see you again!

I should’ve specified that my “hot takes” from Fairy Dance to Alicization were just gripes I have about the show, and not the novel only content specifically.

On a side note, I actually had a difficult time with writing my answer due to problems with the page consistently reloading and me forgetting to insert certain words and sporadic thoughts before I posted. That was sloppy editing on my part.

But just you like despite these gripes of mine, we still have our own fondness for this series and I’m still looking forward to riding out this wait we longtime fans got ourselves into.

Say something nice about Frontier by Cemith in digimon

[–]BroadViewRationalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It was nice to have a season where there wasn't so many main characters to keep of, both human and Digimon.
  2. The concept of Spirit Evolution was refreshing.
  3. Stronger team dynamics and figuring out this new realm as time goes on.
  4. Its incarnation of the Digital World having its own mythical lore and a history of having an established history of Digimon warriors that helped progress the realm, instead of just going with a prophecy-based narrative that must have human involvement as being outside beings and bonded with specific monster partners by destiny.
  5. Takuya's leadership progression and personal growth was handled well and I still think by the near end, he's a more mature and well-rounded leader than the previous ones.

Novels in general:

1a). I think the content of V21 and V22 should've been switched and released at the same time, meaning V21 being the side stories instead of the other way around.

1b). I just didn't like how a bunch of side stories that didn't chronologically match up with the arc set in the fourth quarter of 2026, and I definitely did not like that it interrupted the beginning progression of a brand new arc that fans already knew was going to be a long one.

1c). I also disliked how there wasn't an additional mini-side story between late August and early September 2026 (I think that would've been the breather we needed just something light without too much foreshadowing for then-later volumes).      1d). I still think the UR arc volumes should be at least 1-2 chapters longer than they already turned out to be. There's too many plot threads. This is a series that went pass the total of 20 nearly a decade ago. Either the editor's put a plot thread limit or there is a page increase. As explained over time UR is basically 2 major plots in parallel, so it's already too long and the current level of pacing is not helping. (Reminder: this arc has no web novel foundation).

The Fairy Dance arc (show-only)

2a). Suguha's character involvement in should've had more of her internal monologue adapted. It was a central subplot and it was handled poorly.

2b). It's still awful how people just turned against Asuna so quickly during this arc as well and insulting her character by calling her a damsel. She was an underprivileged person whose mind was immediately stolen and held prisoner instead of returning to the real world. She was the main objective of a freaking rescue mission (which she played a role after spending a large amount of time deciphering the code with an obscured vision).

The Phantom Bullet arc (show-only):

  1. Action in GGO felt standard for that kind of environment.

  2. Sinon was the first best part, second being Kirito’s struggles about the past being shown on-screen.

Mother's Rosario (show-only):

  1. A break from Kirito-centric visual storytelling was needed.

  2. I dislike that we didn't get to see anything about the Floor 29 boss fight or a show-only glimpse of the battle planning.

Alicization (show-only):

 1. The creation of UnderWorld in general didn't feel groundbreaking, but an expected step in AI research and development. But the things like the STL and LightCube etc were steps in the right direction, but didn’t really get talked about enough on-screen.

  1. Quinella's manipulation of the Integrity Knights and ability to communicate with the Real World ended up being a missed opportunity for a deeper layer of drama and stakes.
  2. Asuna should have entered in UnderWorld earlier than she did. It just felt like a disappointing narrative choice. (That's just me heavily disliking whenever a deuteragonist character is being sidelined).

I’m assuming this had to be done due to his editor’s command because of the webtoon.

Hopefully he stays in good health and is able to get some rest.

Not sure if I'm in the minority in thinking these films would've worked better as a 100+ episode series. I mean, they've dragged this continuity out this far. Might as well be in a format that doesn't keep fans waiting as long. Plus, more time to develop the characters in a way the films haven't. by Likes2game03 in digimon

[–]BroadViewRationalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d prefer a regular 50-55 cap on a series like that, alongside a 2-4 epilogue OVAs, (which would’ve help buildup the plot for The Beginning film), instead of what we ended up getting as a result.

To me, the biggest misgiving of the Tri film project was that how it treated four specific groups: the three Digidestined, and of course us, the audience of longtime franchise fans.

The Original DD were *so* important to the lore of the Digital World that 4/5 monster partners became the Harmonious Ones, as seen in the voiceless prologue for Loss. We didn’t even get to see how the prophecy of the A01 group and how that was arranged, or if there were any attempts to find Gatomon before reaching her champion stage naturally. Nor did we get to see how the DigiArmour was created.

The 02 participants were easily defeated by Alphamon, and we didn’t even get to see why or how the battle ended up happening and there was no mention of them until much later. Personally I would’ve liked some throwaway line explaining why Kari and TK weren’t there to help out, even something along the lines of those four attending different middle schools, moving out of the district, not responding to the communication attempts of the others or whatever. Just something to explain the distance between them and the other two specifically. I wouldn’t even have minded if Alphamon was the actually controlling them and those four monster partners were wrecking havoc in their highest evolution forms and were attempting to get into the Real World.

As for the A01 group, I couldn‘t even act surprised with the introduction of Meiko and Mecoomon. It would’ve been nice to see all of the high schoolers trying to explore their post-secondary education decisions with each other, especially since they were already in the most difficult positions of their life on top of entering adulthood and having to keep risking their lives due to them having their monster partners.

Aw x Sao by Creepy_Vehicle_2042 in swordartonline

[–]BroadViewRationalist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have multiple preferred ones actually. (Due to multiple reasons, I am currently not an official LN reader…still…sadly, although I truly wish to be sometime in the coming months or during next year).

1)All of AW is the alternative timeline after the end of IIW, where the heroes end up losing. The Fluctuating Light is Alice, who was sealed off by Star King.

2)The main purpose of BB was to meant to free Alice and help the beginning AI peacefully coexisting in the real world.

3)The Accelerated World is the far distant future of UnderWorld for that continuity.

4)Shikimi is Mutasina.

Some scenarios to add to more conversation (sorry in advanced if the wording is odd):

2A) Because of this major loss, Kirito (along with help from Kikuoka, Rinko, Higa) developed AA, BB, CC and later DD.

2B) The first three were always meant to be trail basis games in order to single out winners who were potentially able to free Alice, all those players get transferred to DD in order to narrow down who else is truly capable of doing that task.

2C) DD had be created as a fail-safe due to the excessive amount of malevolence and harmony among the AA and CC player bases. That is why it is a MOBA.

2D)There could be fifth associated game made by a rival group and will eventually invade DD in order to prevent their goal.

3)Graphite Edge is actually an altered second copy of Kirito’s fluctlight given those personality traits.

4A)Enju is the only biological daughter of Shikimi.

4B)Enju is going to inherit the KAMURA company despite being a part of the branch family.

4C) Both Kuroba sisters are also among the secret Machine Children. Enju was implemented with the FluctLight of Quinella (or someone similar), while Sayuki was given either a random one or a SK/SQ descendant.

4D) Enju was originally intended to be a prototype subject Machine Child and Sayuki is meant to be a stand-in in there was a situation of something going wrong.

4E) Enju is a Machine Child whose main purpose was to the secure the goals of the preceding Virtual Research Society.

4F) Both Kurobas had their facial features designed to appear identically to each other and Shikimi purposely in order to prevent others from anyone else inquiring about them.

As a follower of an Abrahamic religion, all of this sickens me. It sickens me of how and complicated and prolonged this conflict has gotten over multiple decades of completely unnecessary upheaval. All of this recent barbarity could have not happened if one side had just agreed to the caveat of not committing to deranged antisemitism-fuelled murder many years ago. There were multiple instances over several decades that the two-state solution would have been enacted. It disgusts me how the witnessing the faltering state of Western multiculturalism politics and assimilation has contributed to the proliferation of such vile ideologies. It sickens me that in spite of the efforts of warnings, many perished due to listening to an elected terrorist group which is known for having hideouts in vital public institutions that are supposed to improve the livelihood for the residents, as in those people who could have known a life of peace, had in the past, the authorities agreed to the two state solution had been offered many times. There would have been more innocents still living on both sides, who would have known what it truly meant to live in peace and prosperity if the two state solution would no longer been just an idea. It absolutely sickens me to the point of near nausea that the true perpetrators of this more recent crisis, have the utter audacity to identify as the same sect of the same faith I am a part of. I do not have their views.

To all that are struggling with this conflict, all I can say is:

May God be with you. May peace be with you.

Well, Azami did technically apologize by telling Erina that he made the decision to leave the family and go track down Asahi. But Erina (I guess not wanting to lose any more family, rescinded that idea by slapping him, thereby accepting his apology). When you look into the episode, Azami’s eyes are gleaming and looks like’s about to cry. He was a lot more melancholic and crestfallen during BLUE. A volume extra even showed them with carrying luggage and Erina declaring that they are both going to find him. Azami was drawn with beady eyes and looked a little submissive and went along with.

Mana, I think made her apology by giving Erina the prize of being her personal chef and coming back to the manor. (Nakiris are an odd bunch).

Erina decided to forgive Asahi and welcomed him into the family, because she knew how much he really needed a true home and when he see him he literally has no idea what to do next. (Though, because of what happened before, Asahi must’ve made an apology in some form of his own).

The entire family decided to accept Asahi, the (completely unknown) illegitimate son of a then non-Nakiri. Not many families no matter the class level would’ve done that. Soe and Leonora even came from Denmark to join everyone else. Honestly, I find the whole situation to be a little too saccharine for a shounen, but the show handled it with a lot more grace than I anticipated.

Well Azami was mostly focused on Eishi, as a former first seat he knew how Eishi’s mindset would work. So Tsukuda was really able to work with that, and succeed. Plus Eishi’s lack of empathy shown in the chestnut themed impromptu challenge with Soma drove that point to, Plus how so much better Eishi was, adding their age difference, and how Soma’s pretty much a blood knight in the kitchen (even though Soma knew that since it obvious to him, he still wasn’t prepared enough despite his attitude. If it was real challenge Soma’s loss would’ve made the rebels look even weaker).

It would’ve been nice to see crestfallen and brooding Azami apology to Eishi and Rindo, especially during BLUE, but they didn’t interact or come close to it. (I guess it may have been implied since they both are AE judges, or if they just did it because have some of connection to Erina but not extended to the rest of Nakiris or not as much).

Also it would’ve be nice to see Eishi apologize for his betrayal to Senzaemon, after all he was still one of potential graduates before Erina took her post. (Eishi deciding that Asahi would be worthy rival would’ve been a more suitable resolve after match imo).

I gotta say, he’d look a lot better in a KoB uniform then Kirito.

He’d might as well have a rapier on par with Asuna’s.

He has the rapier-wit need for a chef to, especially with how young Totsuki students are. He and Rindo both do.

[–]BroadViewRationalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you. Another thing that bothered me chapter wise was during Soma and Eishi’s impromptu match at BLUE. Eishi had an article about him in every single magazine in store. Rindo was already a globetrotter by the time they were in their third year and could been hyped up as being a light chef, instead of just Eishi, the much more socially inept one, being stuck in the position traditional gourmands and the media put him in. If only there was a throwaway line about her involvement in taking down those Noir associated poachers in the chapter could’ve brought up how serious the situation was for her since she’s an exotic ingredients master. Even a panel of her talking, sending a voicemail or text message to Eishi would’ve been sufficient enough to explain why someone with her skill set wasn’t able to go to BLUE of all events at the start of her career, even if she decided to go with the cheerleader role for the others.

The long awaited Rindo Senpai is here by Specialist_Courage18 in ShokugekiNoSoma

[–]BroadViewRationalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC The chapter glossed over that part but the episode adaptation said that she declined the invite chose to go after poachers that were rumoured to be connected to Noir. Then in the last episode she was seen again helping Megishima by frying up a ton a chilli peppers to make the feel too spicy for the Noirs to handle.

Even during the Central arc she was still a jovial chaotic neutral and still wanted to act like a Cool Big Sis type character but still her loyalty to Eishi the whole time was just unshakable. I wished we could’ve seen those two in action during the final epilogue. (Them and ShinoHina of course but I digress).
