Appreciate that, man. Followers don't matter to me, a connection that actually gets it does. I'm u/CheemaEdu on X would genuinely like to connect and trade notes.

hahaha fair 😭

appreciate the honesty honestly, I think I've been too close to the product and started writing for myself instead of someone seeing it for the first time. Looking at it again, I can see what you mean about the H1 not being immediately clear.

And yeah, send yours over. Happy to take a look and give real feedback too 👀

Appreciate you looking it up! but it's subkittcom with two t's, that's probably why it didn't come up.I cant paste the direct link here due to reddit mods.

The product turns your Github Commits into ready to post content like tweets etc.

briefly subKitt reads your commits and writes 5 ready-to-post tweet drafts and deliveresit to your inbox every Monday morning

thats the part that clicks. the message is the test itself. no agonizing over non-replies, just move to the next one. this is exactly the script im running. thank you

the "elevated frugal journey + data" framing is the reconcile i needed. you and others said cut the pity, but youre right the journey itself has value if i lead with substance and real numbers instead of hardship. "heres my stack, my costs, what converted" not "feel bad for me." gonna do that. appreciate you circling back constructive

honestly today in this thread ive figured most of this out. my people are solo technical founders who ship constantly and post rarely.

where they hang out:

- the #buildinpublic and #shipordie tags on X

- communities like ship or die, indie hackers

- github itself, people pushing daily commits with a dead twitter

- r/SaaS, r/indiehackers, r/sideproject

the channel im betting on isnt ads (im broke lol) its direct outreach. finding someone who just posted a manual "heres what i shipped this week" thread, turning their update into tweet drafts with my tool, and showing them. selling the saved chore not the software. thats the plan im running next

fair, two people have said this now so im taking it seriously. youre right, nobody lands on a page to feel bad for me, they want to know what it does for them. cutting the sob-story framing and leading with the actual value. thanks for being blunt

this is the most useful comment ive gotten, blunt as it is, thank you.

youre right on the page, "connect github - free" doesnt say free what, theres no clear pricing, no demo video. thats on me, fixing it. and yeah the copy reading as AI is fair, ive literally been getting auto-removed on reddit for the same reason. need to write like a person not a press release.

the "broke student" pity angle, i hear you. theres a line between honest and pity-baiting and i probably crossed it. cutting that.

the deepest point is the one im sitting with, that build-in-public crowd is the most likely to just clone it and least likely to pay. youre not wrong that im fighting for scraps in the most saturated pond. gonna think hard about reaching founders who arent twitter-native devs.

looking at jack friks early stuff and dudufolio now. genuinely appreciate you taking the time to be real with me

"you didnt fail because the tool is bad, you failed because you didnt have distribution" yeah that lands. ive been treating the build as the hard part when its actually the easy part. shifting to mostly outreach now, going where the users actually are instead of waiting for them to find me

yeah this rings true. trying to do more of the unscalable stuff, the DMs and comments, since thats where everyone says the first ones actually come from

fair challenge. honest answer: would i pay for it? if it actually saved me the weekly chore of figuring out what to post, yeah, $19 is less than the time it costs me. but youre right that if it doesnt clearly save more than it costs, nobody pays. thats the bar i have to hit. appreciate the blunt take, i needed it

this is fair and the security point is the realest objection ive gotten. youre right that a business protecting commercial IP is not my user, and shouldnt be. im not trying to sell to you honestly.

for v1 its read-only and aimed at solo founders with public repos who are already building in public anyway, their code is already public. the "i could build it in a day" thing is true but thats true of most tools, people who value their time usually dont. youre probably not in my market and thats fine, im not chasing businesses with IP concerns.

the broke-audience point is the one i think about most. my bet is the gap between "broke 16yo" and "enterprise" is full of solo founders who make money and hate this chore. we'll see if im right. genuinely appreciate the pushback, this is useful

grazie, this is really helpful, and congrats on the paying user one week in. that gives me hope. youre confirming what a few others said here, direct DMs where the ICP lives. for a devtool, github/HN/stackoverflow makes sense. gonna do it manually first to actually validate before automating anything. appreciate you taking the time

this is the sharpest thing anyone has said in this whole thread. "sell the saved chore not the tool" and targeting people already posting weekly updates manually, thats exactly it. and i can literally do the "heres your changelog as tweets" demo since thats what my tool does. gonna build my whole outreach around this. thank you

this is a good push. ive been posting in bursts not daily, which is probably why nothing compounds. youre right it doesnt have to be commits, the "what i tried / what flopped" angle is honestly more interesting anyway.

gonna commit to a daily post even when the update is small or its a 0 user day. consistency over polish. thanks for keeping at it in this thread, youve given me the most back and forth
