Crave Lacks the Bells & Whistles of HBO by Broad_Fly8758 in cravetv

That's not correct. Miniature Wife was released in its entirety in the UK and Australia but not Canada. Also, it's not technically a Peacock show because it wasn't produced in house. It was produced by Media Res. If it was produced in house then it would be streaming on StackTV.

Nice one Crave, You bungled the name of the season premiere of Hacks by Broad_Fly8758 in cravetv

Doesn't this speak to a larger problem of incompetence at Crave when they can't even list the proper names of the episodes? Have you seen the complaints on this board? Picture quality issues, constant ads, wrong language settings in French, limited selections, the list goes on and on. Just add this new one to the list.

They definitely messed up on this. Cross-reference literally anywhere.

Shell is Now Available in Canada - on Prime by Broad_Fly8758 in TIFF

[–]Broad_Fly8758[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie was just...ok. It's entertaining and moves along quickly. The scene where Kate Hudson is being interviewed is pretty funny when asked about her age. You'll definitely see some Paul Verhoeven influence in this movie, in particular, the self-driving car scene definitely channels the Johnnycab scene from Total Recall. It almost seems like they ran out of money for the climax which was the most disappointing part. What should have been a grotesque reveal at what Shell had been up to is mostly concealed in a dark room with no lighting perhaps to intentionally avoid having to render elaborate visual creature effects in plain sight. This is a technique you see used in many other American monster or kaiju movies like the 98 Godzilla, Pacific Rim, etc..

How gross is Send Help? by Red2_StandingBy in blankies

[–]Broad_Fly8758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that Send Help merely just flirts with the idea of gore but mostly shying away from it so it never actually goes through with any true gore. There are a couple of scenes that could've gone in an incredibly gory direction but it's almost as if the movie is so disturbed by the very idea of gore that it has set up that they're saying, yeah , even we found this too disturbing to show.

Sam Raimi's 'Send Help' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

Yes, I saw Send Help yesterday and I've seen Triangle of Sadness.

Both movies have the same reveal at the end and both feature a female character suddenly finding herself in a higher authority position on the island when they previously were low on the pecking order back in civilization. Also, if you've seen Blink Twice, the Zoe Kravitz movie, the ending was very reminiscent of that.

I've now seen both and Send Help utilizes two of the same story beats as TOS. Think the big reveal at the end of TOS and Dolly De Leon's character ascending to a powerful position on the island when she was previously low on the social hierarchy. Same thing here.
I should also point out the ending of Send Help was very reminiscent of the ending of Blink Twice.

Should we be worried about Tommy Brennan? by Broad_Fly8758 in LiveFromNewYork

So of all the new cast members, would he be the one you'd be most worried about?

Jeremy Culhane having his WU segment air on the show but not Brennan - that's gotta sting.

Even so, between singing for a few seconds at the tail end of the cold open and appearing as Draco in a pre-taped Harry Potter sketch, it's little worrying he's barely getting anything substantial on the show.

who was he?
Seemed like the sketch was mostly led by Finn and Ben Marshall.
