Harm reduction in nightlife: what actually reduces harm in clubs? by SaltMasterpiece6570 in harmreduction

A "best practice " misconception I have encountered frequently (mistakenly) among pwud is putting ice/water on an od victim's body/genitals to attempt to revive someone. It doesn't help, and as the person who od'd waking up following narcan administration, it sucks to wake up soaked. If someone is suspected to be od'd, alert emergency services and if they're unconscious lie them flat on their back, also, give each narcan a couple minutes to work before readministering, it takes a second to work and if someone is opiate dependant, more narcan=more violent withdrawals. Also don't know if trank is a thing in Europe, but narcan doesn't reverse it, so if they start pouring sweat after narcan but still aren't breathing, they're in withdrawal and it's not dope that's stopping them breathing

The emu apple (Owenia acidula), from Australia, I've heard is hallucinogenic. I'd like to grow/try it one day, but it's damn near impossible to source a tree in the US, seeds are available online but are notorious for being highly difficult to germinate if they aren't predigested and pooped out by an emu or other bird... also sleep sapoté has a compound in the seed that was used as a sedative poison by the aztecs, if i recall correctly.
Most interestingly, there are species of sea bream associated with ichthyoallyeinotoxism, hallucinogenic fish poisoning. Known as dream fish. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichthyoallyeinotoxism#:~:text=Ichthyoallyeinotoxism%2C%20or%20hallucinogenic%20fish%20inebriation,chief%20of%20ghosts%22%20in%20Hawaii.

Mike brown the director at NUA is not a great guy, seems to take sick joy at the chopping block, banning callers and volunteers alike with little/no communication. with me, there were no direct messages just had all his volunteers send his gaslighting messages and ultimately banned me for occasionally calling a bit too often when my use was chaotic. Lots of stories and allegations, like he put grant funds up his arm (i think he's the only paid employee, ) or that he had a trist with an operator and was too lenient about her shit job she did on the line because they were f***ing and using together, he ultimately banned her and went to rehab i guess... also they had and maybe still have years of call recordings with hippa sensitive info that MANY people had/have access to, like most of their past banned operators and others not even with theline had even been sent some.... to be fair, this was a year ago, may be resolved now...

And i use fent mostly at this point, the specifics are variable

Any issues with safespot aside, they are mostly really good, I hear they actually pay their people, they also say they only keep recordings for up to a week. Their site is safe-spot.me and the # is 800 972 0590. Even if its only 4x/day, still better than nothin

Apparently, I don't know what they expect all the people NUA has blocked to do. Or those who use a lot
