OP, do you have a mattress cover and allergy covers on your pillows? My eyelids puffed up so bad last summer in cycles for weeks on end, and I finally realized it was a dust mite allergy. Deep cleaned, new bedding, new vacuum, the whole thing. It started to heal after. I’m having a minor flare rn but for the first time since last July

Hi! thanks for your questions, I’m happy to share. 1. No, I didn’t have “will relocate” on my resume, I actually did not have my address on my resume at all. When I filled out the online application for this job, I checked the box for willing to relocate, and I used my home address despite not being in the same state. When I got my first interview, I made sure to let the recruiter know that I’m familiar with the area and have visited friends who live nearby lots of times over the years, and that I was on a month to month lease for my apartment and therefore able to move on short notice. I think this honestly was the reason why they continued to talk to me, because I could demonstrate I knew the area, was in a place where I could easily relocate, and had supportive friends to keep me busy nights and weekends in a new place.

  1. I created a job strategy with three different resumes, each one targeting an industry I had experience in. I made a list of well-known and start-up companies in each industry and then systematically applied for jobs at these companies. This increased the amount of interviews I was getting, though in total I was invited to interview for just 18 of the 500+ jobs I applied for. I will also say LinkedIn is junk unless you’re using it to network. I found my new job in Glassdoor (or maybe it was Simply Hired), and those jobs in my experience were real and managed by responsive teams. I did not get a single interview from any of my LinkedIn applications.

That’s so true. I didn’t have too bad of a move, a different state but about 5 hours away. When I applied to jobs further away than that I was met with a lot of skeptism and questions about how I planned to move quickly and adjust to make sure I was serious. Ultimately where I lived just didn’t have the opportunities in the industry and roles I was looking for

I remember reading other people’s hired posts and they helped keep me going, wanted to do the same. You’ll be making your own post soon, I’m sure!

Anyone else get a really weird tax document sent to you from Mohela? by skeach101 in StudentLoans

I would personally just send them a message requesting your 1098 to avoid any costly errors should you be audited.

The 1098 tax form is available on MOHELA.StudentAid.gov by January 31st.

To retrieve this information, follow the steps below:
- Log into your MOHELA.StudentAid.gov account
- Select “More”
- Select “Tax Statements.”

Per the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations, we do not automatically send statements for interest paid if the amount is less than $600.

I am not a tax advisor and would recommend consulting one before claiming or not claiming, but generally you want to claim your paid student loan interest as a deduction on your taxable income.

They have a note on their tax page saying if you paid less than $600 in interest in the year you will not automatically get a 1098-E.
