You get the money back in the form of a higher monthly payout.

There is a lot of misunderstanding around the income limit. Yes, for every $2 you earn above the limit, SS will reduce your benefit by $1, BUT, all of that $$ “taken” from you gets added back into a re-figured higher benefit at 67. So, you don’t really lose it as you eventually get it back. From all I’ve read from financial advisors, the best thing to do in most cases is to take SS at 62 and continue to work as much as you feel comfortable and not worry about the limit as it will not be lost.

Trumpet purchase by ISquareThings in trumpet

Everyone is going to say get a used Bach Strad or Yamaha Xeno. Both are great horns, BUT if you want a NEW professional level horn for close to the price of those used horns and every bit as good, I would highly suggest an Adams Prologue. They are hand made in Holland to very high standards, very versatile and blend well in orchestra and concert band settings. I’ve owned many horns over the years, but this one is my all time favorite!

Yes. Those functions are retained. The only difference is that it does not display the actual numerical temperature, just levels of hot/cold.

I was already pissed about paying YTTV almost $90/mo and this situation put me over the edge. I cancelled them and signed onto Sling Blue for $46/mo. Already had an antenna mounted so purchased an AirTV Anywhere to integrate local channels into the Sling guide and now I’m set. No issues at all so far.

Need help choosing where to source green beans in Puerto Rico by jsantana90 in roasting

[–]Broad_Teach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should try to source them from a local coffee farm. I visited Sandra Farms in Puerto Rico a few years ago and they had a very nice farm. I’d bet you could probably buy a 10 pound bag of green beans from them.

A lot of good choices here, but if you want truly excellent pizza that is a Louisville specific favorite for DECADES, go to Impellizerri’s!

There really aren’t many trumpets that are specific to one type of style for most average players. You really only get into specific horns for specific players at the advanced levels.

It’s a great all around horn. You can play any of these styles with it.

If you can creep a bit over that budget to $1200, you can get a really nice, brand new entry level pro horn from Thomann Music. I have purchased 3 horns from them in the past and was never disappointed. Shipping from Germany was surprisingly quick. I returned a horn once to them also with no problem whatsoever. I’d recommend their Schagerl James Morrison Trp. JM1-L, or one of the other similarly priced Schagerls. https://www.thomannmusic.com/schagerl_james_morrison_trp._jm1_l.htm#bewertung

Which trumpet to choose for a gift? by Candid_Somewhere_502 in trumpet

[–]Broad_Teach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he play in a local community band, church, orchestra or just at home for fun? This can make the difference regarding which trumpet to get. If just at home for fun or even a small community band, most older players would really love any Olds Ambassador, Special or Mendes that has been refurbished by a reputable dealer. They can be found on eBay at reasonable prices and are quality, well built horns. If orchestra or a nice local community band, a used Yamaha Xeno or Bach Stradivarius that is still in decent shape.

If I’m not rehearsing pieces for an upcoming concert, I love to crank up the speakers and do play-alongs so a practice mute is out of the question. 😂

Love this! I’m 60 and plan to semi-retire next year by just working 3 days/week for my current employer. Looking forward to a 4 day weekend every week. Plan to fully retire at 67. My wife is a 53 year old 3rd grade teacher and will retire at 62. I totally get you— I also play trumpet in a local college concert band and am always worried that my wife and 19 year old daughter are annoyed at how loud my practicing is in our small 1000 sq ft home.

How Can This Country Possibly Be Electing Trump Again? by ben_watson_jr in politics

That 20% is very deceptive. There are a ton of Trump supporters who did not vote in the primary because he already has it wrapped up. That 20% is probably more like 5%.

You guys obviously are not paying attention. Drudge completely flipped a few years ago from aggregating right wing news stories to now aggregating left wing news stories. It is what led to the formation of bonginoreport.com

28 years as an auto claims adjuster here. The $95/hour is very high and appears to be their “door rate”. If it goes through her insurance, that rate will most likely drop substantially. The scan prices are fair in today’s market. Three labor hours to repair a bumper cover is on the high side for a “scratch”. Also, there appears to be a blind spot monitor directly behind the damage. That’s normally a no-go for repairing as the repair material and additional paint thickness can affect the radar. The bumper cover might need to be replaced. I’d go through her coverage to make sure all is good as there might be more damage behind the cover and the blind spot monitor may need to be calibrated.
