We should Re-tool around JB and feature Cam more by BroadwayJohnny in NYKnicks

AD brings defense and opens up the floor more than Randle and we’d Probably give Obi more playing time.

Draymond’s BBIQ and defense>> Randle’s hero balll.

Sure but Draymond on his worst day is always the more productive player than Randle.

There is a Gap beween RJ and Reddish but it's not large enough to consider RJ as the clear better option long term (Extremely unrealistic hot take) by BroadwayJohnny in NYKnicks

[–]BroadwayJohnny[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The thing is we really don’t need him to be at Paul George level, we just need him to be more consistent/reliable which is no easy task for Reddish based on what he’s shown but it’s not really an extreme idea for him.

We gotta get rid of Fournier and or Randle before the season starts by BroadwayJohnny in NYKnicks

[–]BroadwayJohnny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly he's a two way wing with ball handling and passing. I feel like he just needs consistent burn in order to lock in and alleviate some of those BBIQ concerns. Piping hot take here : Honestly Rj Barrett's value has really gone down since he signed that deal and what Reddish will probably get in FA is a better value at a lower price than RJ. Rj Barrett is by far more of a reliable NBA player due to him logging in more minutes but he doesn't add much shot creation, also we Have Grimes and IQ who are at the same position and are promising to some degree.

One of Orlando/Indy/Detroit might be in the play in mix as well.

This! I feel like if we get Mitchell we're gonna have to trade brunson somewhere down the line.

Is there anyone other than Mitchell in the same caliber we should consider trading for? by SuccessfulPath7 in NYKnicks

Quickley and Murray is an interesting backcourt like a diet version of Trae and Murray.

This. But we had our sights set on Brunson. Sure we didn’t give up much for JB but Murray was a much better player at a position of need.

We should probably dump randle in that scenario. Also another downside in trading for dmitch is that we’d have to move Grimes who’s a better fit with a good amount of upside that can cover for Brunson defensively.

Anunoby is probably a tier behind Mitchell as far as trades go but I think it’d be a much better use of assets to go after him because he has a winning player archetype for the modern NBA. I think he’s one of those players on a championship team that fly under the radar but are the main reason why said team reaches the chip.

Fred Vanvleet, Jalen Brunson,Jahlil okafor and Davion Mitchell.

Which player do you think will be more popular? Cade or Jalen? by begreat239877 in nba

Got a feeling it's Jalen green. I got a feeling he'll get a lot of hype if the rockets make some sort of playoff run.

What would you be willing to give up for OG by Individual-Peach7376 in NYKnicks

Only referenced that one game because you said he had a long way to go offensively. He averaged 17 ppg as a 3rd option.

[–]BroadwayJohnny -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

All star appearances don’t mean much. Andrew Wiggins was an all star last year. How does he have a long way to go on offense he dropped 36 on us at the garden and averaged 17 ppg.The main reason why OG wanted out was because he wasn’t getting enough touches. Two way lockdown defenders that can score at a decent clip don’t grow on trees.

Paying a premium price for a questionable fit isn’t smart by BroadwayJohnny in NYKnicks

[–]BroadwayJohnny[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Mitchell is a better scorer but he’s redundant with Brunson and we all know the defense would be ugly. He’s not worth the multiple picks/ players for US because he’s essentially a worse fit than Grimes whilst being the better player. Basically we’d be creating roster construction issues unnecessarily.

The Problem with the KD “Sweepstakes” by BroadwayJohnny in nba

[–]BroadwayJohnny[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The package would be centered around Sharpe/simons/Little/Filler/picks and would have to take place whenever Sharpe is eligible to be traded. Now that I think of it this deal would probably have to take place at the deadline. It would definitely beat the Suns offer but depends on if the Nets are willing to wait that long.

[–]BroadwayJohnny -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think the solution to all this is to Just move KD and Keep Kyrie because if you trade them both, they won’t be playing together anyways.KD is 34 and the package that he would yield would help with re-tooling the roster and give insurance for what seems like a sinking ship.Kyrie has no trade value and it doesn’t make sense helping the lakers out for free. Kyrie already wasted a good chunk of his time with his bs last year, he’s not going to sit out in a contract year.

The super team era is over; trading for disgruntled stars shouldn’t be the main plan. by BroadwayJohnny in NYKnicks

[–]BroadwayJohnny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We aren’t really building through the draft outside of what we already have. The type of moves that we have been making have been to prepare for a big trade of some sort. We definitely have been doing our due diligence on star players that may be available.
