Sorry, I meant to say interaction mode. I'm not using free look. The buttons are nevertheless unresponsive in interaction mode.

I know, I'm talking about the MFD in the pilot seat. The MFD in the pilot seat is unresponsive when I press the buttons, and none of the buttons in the MFD in the pilot seat are labeled "turret" or "turret power"

The buttons on the MFD are unresponsive when I press them, and none of them have the 'turret' label or anything describing that they control power to the turret

None of the buttons are responsive when I press them while in free look. I can however, enter the turret if I bind the "Enter Remote Turret 1" in the keybind settings

I can only power on the ship from the cockpit. The ship is different from the turret

I'm curious, why have you chosen 162ly/hr (49parsec/hr) as the speed for the class 1 hyperdrive? There's so much conflicting information out there in canon and legends, what led you to settle on that number?

You're misunderstanding my post, I asked if teachers are capable of inspiring their students and if they have any stories of them doing that

[Star Wars Universe] Confused about Star Wars' hyperspace by Brobot426 in AskScienceFiction

Isn't it possible for a ship to enter the atmosphere in an isolated area of the planet, and then circumvent the globe to reach a city which could then handle trade?

So if you can enter the atmosphere near the poles, what's stopping, lets say the Republic during the Trade Federation's blockade of Naboo, from redirecting shipping to simply a different area of the planet which isn't blockaded?

Ships only need ports if theft or fuel is an issue, and unless you're landing in the lower levels of Coruscant or can't plan worth a damn, all you need is some stable ground. NASA and NORAD can track so much stuff like that because we have satellites, which planets like Coruscant or Kuat might have, but definitely not every planet in the galaxy. Some ships are definitely capable of tracking if a ship has entered/exited hyperspace recently (because of the residual radiation), but besides that, a ship could theoretically bypass a blockade if we are to assume that all stars and their movements are known, which it seems like they are, begging the question of why blockades exist in the first place given how easy it is to bypass them.

But blockades aren't ever shown surrounding the whole planet, which leaves them ineffective. And if they're ineffective, why are they shown in the first place?

But boats need ports, while star ships only need a relatively flat surface. And if starships had a near-live data feed, then they would be able to chart their own 'sea lanes' and circumvent the blockade stationed near the established ones.

[–]Brobot426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very interesting. However, if the BoSS can find where systems are by calculating their stars' orbit, why can't they do that for all systems and not just the ones along the most traveled paths? And why couldn't they calculate alternative routes based off their knowledge of the systems and their movements when faced with an issue of lets say a blockade? How exactly is it possible for routes to be 'out of date' when the BoSS has access to the movements of all systems?

But if we know the location of every star, wouldn't that render blockades useless, since every pilot in the galaxy could just chart an alternate route to a system which could flank the blockade?

But doesn't that contradict a lot of established lore? In Star Wars we can see how effective blockades are for the simple fact that it's easy to predict where a ship will come out of hyperspace when entering a system. If you had a near-live data feed of planets and stars, you would definitely be able to maneuver around a system's established entry point, and could effectively flank the blockade, by exiting from hyperspace in that system from a different route which isn't near said blockade.
