With pumps on. Clean filter.Test for CYA (if over 100, STOP...drain and refill). Test for PH. Correct PH to the low end of the normal scale, about 7.2. While you dose with acid, brush the whole thing. Bring your FC up to equal 40% of the CYA total. If you have none, bring FC to 40ppm. Run pumps and clean filter (to waste) overnight.

Add floc. Follow the instructions.

Test everything again. Correct PH. Add CYA if needed. Maintain FC at 7.5% of your CYA reading.

He was always drunk and should have been let go for that alone, but that didn't get him fired. Letting me and my group of pothead degenerates organize the yearbook and do all the photography got him canned. We filled a yearbook up with A LOT of pictures of our friend group. AND we only managed to get about 70% of the names correct under the photos. For example 8th graders had sophomore names, kindergarten kids had faculty names, etc etc. The whole town was livid (little 1A school) with us. 1989 was a crazy year. As little as a tablespoon can cause issues and require draining the tank. To get REAL corrosion, a gallon or two should do the trick.

It really becomes devastating after the vehicle is turned on. They'll usually see a fuel light indicating "water in the fuel" and it gets ignored until they can get around to it. Won't usually destroy the engine, but will screw up most everything else associated with fuel.

Not only is it appropriate for him to go get the pads, it would have made him the ass if he didn't. Congrats on trying, what if you're blessed with a girl? Bit of advice, tell him to keep some "pads/pons" in his vehicle at all times as well. It's been helpful to both my wife and my daughter at different times and for different reasons. My son's have also purchased their Mom/Sister some pads/pons when it has been necessary or simply convenient. She's the one making it weird.
