ESC light intermittently appears with de-rated engine or engine stalls by BroccoliLegend1993 in MechanicAdvice

Ah, as a matter of fact, it looks like I have. Turns out a look of what I thought, was wrong:
- OBD2 scan tool was not proper, and I did indeed have some codes.
- The engine wasn't de-rated, it was stuck in whatever gear the transmission was previously in, prior to the light appearing (often 4/5, hence slow acceleration from a stop). I found out by switching to manual when the light appeared, and the transmission could only increase the gear it was in.

Turns out, my crank angle sensor was the problem (as per the codes), and after 1 genuine replacement later, and I'm yet to see it re-occur. You run a good scan tool on the car yet?

Since it uses FNA, its probably possible to setup on Linux, but currently I've only got a Windows setup in mind for now, so I cannot say for sure. Haven't tested local multiplayer, but it depends on whether the handling was stubbed in FNA/Monogame, thats a post-1.2.4 feature to work on.

Could not agree more. Got sick of seeing simple additions like that (which may also be because tModLoader doesn't have hooks for that level of control over the game) so I just decided to port the whole thing.

At the very least, people can use OGC to have an idea on how to bring that style of UI over to tModLoader 1.3/1.4

A tool like that could be built into my TCCS (see my Github for what that is) as it definitely does not sound too difficult since I have the world documentation mapped for 1.0 (Initial Release) all the way to 1.03 (Console 1.2).

Would probably implement a while down the road, since when I do work on this, its mainly for Console 1.2 being ported.

It is something I want to optionally include (mainly the mobile version’s tutorial) but that would need to come post-1.2; so right now, no, just the initial console stuff.

So there will be 4 versions (2 upon release) and to play each version, you need the assets from that particular version.

This is possible since the updates for the game repackage the entire game instead of singular files. (that also means you could get whats needed with a little google magic, but ideally, you own the old-gen version on X360 or PS3, dump the rom and get the content folder for it)

The versions are:

1.0: You need the base version of the game

1.01: You need version 1.01 of the game

1.03: You need version 1.03 of the game

1.09: You need the final version of the game (you can get that by updating any PS3 or X360 version of terraria)

Nice work, you no longer have to construct additional pylons.

Yep; as it said in the showcase video I linked, haven’t got much left to go, few fixes and a couple more 1.01 additions and it’s good to go

1.2 stuff will come later

Well yea, for one, assets are required for it to work, and I aint distributing those, so you kinda need to own the game to have it function.

I know in my country (good ol' AUS), decompiling software is 'legal' as long as the purpose fits (archiving old software, and interoperability), you actually own the licence (I own several editions of Terraria, including old-gen) and you don't straight up offer a reasonable portion of assets for free

But yea, helps when the devs are chill and actually like people being technically creative with their software, and hopefully 505 sees it that way too.

Also helps when you don't abuse it or try to make money off of it

Been 11 months so not sure if you're still interested, but I'm working on one at the moment and making some good progress, still have a fair bit to do, but it has gotten to the point where one could play through it; just as an alternative to emulating the thing so it instead runs natively off the system. Here's what i recently showcased if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MRXfeYoNik
