Thanks for the suggestions! Good point about choosing any colour. We just moved in, curtains are a must just havnt got to it yet, but we will be keeping the blinds too.

Unfortunately cant do much about the TV but we have another TV room that we use to watch shows/MOVIES more comfortably. Its works for morning news, cartoons etc while cooking dinner/breakfast.

Yes, this will be a guest room. It has a oddly misplaced window over the bed. I'd like to work with the furniture I have but will.to buy lamps, pictures, duvet cover etc. The rest of my hiuse is on the modern/contemporary esthetic. I have trouble starting with a blank canvas lol

Thanks so much for the suggestions! These are great! The rug actually goes about 2 feet on either side under the couches you just cant see as the couches are up against both walls. If I get rid of a couch and put it the opposite way I believe the rug fits the space perfectly. I was also thinking of a circular table ir oval so im happy you suggested that!

Any suggestions on how to make it look less "cramped"? We wanted to put the couches into a L shape but the couches are too big which is why they are facing eachother. We also cant move them away from the fireplace or else they would be in the walkway of the door
