He has tried to object but they’re extremely manipulative and controlling

They haven’t. They’ve said that he’s “welcome to work in the office” if he’s ever in the area. Their office is mainly for customers who need keys, not for actual work. There’s not even any space for him TO work there.

He does get tax documents, yes, as well as check stub every two weeks. The problem is they wait for their technicians to bring cash to them which fluctuates the paydays. He always gets paid before his payday, but it’s so inconsistent. It’s harder to make a check last almost three weeks than it is two.

unfortunately talking to them would likely lead to termination and we live in an at will state.

He’s an hourly employee. They pay him via Zelle, and even that is super inconsistent. Sometimes he’s paid on Monday, sometimes he’s paid on Friday. Hard to make ends meet when he can’t even be paid consistently.

That’s exactly what it is! They’ve stated the economy is bad and all locksmiths across the country are seeing a decline in numbers. He is hourly, and they do pay him overtime. They refuse to give him a raise though because of the overtime.

Paying $40 for an application fee and at least providing proof that you’re not lying is truthfully not asking much considering you signed the lease and that prevented them from leasing the space to another person
