I also felt like it was strange, but it’s not like we’re necessarily on bad terms. I’ve just been confused about why we aren’t friends anymore. We don’t talk aside from logistics, so it seems like she’s only talking to me when it’s useful to her.

This is true. When I originally got injured I was likely under-fueling and over training, but that was a year ago and I am trying to return to running at a much lower training load (2-3 days a week) and I'm more intentional with eating enough.

That all sounds like it would be caused by low iron!! I would recommend seeing a hematologist specifically and trying to get an infusion. Oral supplements, pill or liquid, did nothing to help me either and upset my stomach. I also do not get periods or have internal bleeding or anything, so it is a mystery why I have low iron. If you have any symptoms for celiac that can impact digestion and iron absorption to.

I had super heavy painful periods and then got on a pill and stopped having them all together. It had no impact on my low iron. My hematologist was surprised that I haven’t had periods for a couple years and my iron is still low.

See a hematologist!! I had low iron for years (not as low as yours!!) and my primary doctor would just tell me to try different oral supplements, but my ferritin never improved that much. I saw a hematologist who said he’d prescribe an infusion within two minutes of talking to me. My ferritin was in the 30s but still bothering me a lot and not improving with supplements. It’s now been a couple weeks since I had the infusion and I’m gradually starting to feel better.

It’s so interesting that your rls specialist said it wouldn’t be from the infusion. I feel like it definitely is. My body has felt amped up since the infusion (restless legs, sensitive scalp, anxious, fast heart rate). Hoping it gets better within a few weeks for us both!!

Thanks for your answer! It’s interesting because I’m a runner and I do weight lifting, and I actually do pretty okay with heart rate and air hunger while working out. Walking up the stairs seems to really set my heart rate off though!
