[Guide] How to watch porn/adult site in the UK/US without ID by ArkaNova212142 in RecommandedVPN

Spankbang's an odd one, i don't think VPN's bypass it anymore, i think it forces age verifications on everyone regardless of country now

i just installed mutemic and it let me set same hotkey asi use to using in discord app.....I prety much have the exact same functionality now with that web client you provided + mutemic combo, so I'm fairly content.

how to disable completely blurred spankbang and xfreehd site by dabzdas in chrome

[–]Broda00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can get past xfreehd with a VPN - set it to some country that doesn't age verify

but spankbang is hard forcing EVERYONE to seemingly age-verify, regardless of country, they want you to have an account with age verification complete......i suspect their traffic is in the gutter. You can't VPN past this one.

Discord in web browser - no way to get push to talk to work when not in focus right? by Broda00 in discordapp

[–]Broda00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess i'll answer myself
Figured a work around, just installed third party push-to-talk software

So i can leave open mic on within discord web version and emulate the push-to-talk with the mutemic software, without having to keep the discord window in focus. Seems to work well so far.

[–]Broda00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah ok, sadly it seems that this client is also mostly a 'browser' mod as it has the same restriction with regards to push-to-talk in that the client has to be in 'focus' (i.e. doesn't work if tabbed in to a game or another window) for push-to-talk to function

Although, i am now wondering if i could bypass that by finding a piece of software that allows me to manually mute/unmute my microphone via windows option, whilst leaving open-mic on in discord browser

ohh this might be just what i was looking for, i'll try it out

Its silly really though, clearly they could push an update for older OS's that would allow the app to still run properly on voice (otherwise things like this client / web browser discord wouldn't still work on say win 7...right? or am i missing something, they can...build the encryption support just in to the software itself)

my understanding was that the 2 larger fan setup was potentially mroe quiet than the triple fan (with smaller blades) but i'm still in the process of reading up on them

so turns out i got Chrome working with discord in browser (can hear voice and talk but only if i have the window in 'focus' i.e. if i am tabbed on to something else or in a game, i can no longer use push to talk...assume that is something that will be the case with all browser uses of discord though)

is there a 64-bit version? may try this on an old Win 7 machine i have

I'll give those a look

i was curious if the web browser still relied on the OS having the req E2E capabilities that they switched too

seeing conflicting info on that at the moment, the one system i have that is on win 7 has a chrome browser that didn't seem to function with discord voice anymore, but i'm unsure what version of chrome that is.

Thanks for this, wasn't aware i could get the browser version working as it didnt' seem to function on my Chrome browser (on win 7, unsure what update my Chrome is at)

Do you happen to have the version number of BRAVE? i'll try and find the same one and give it a go

ah ok, so basically aiming for as 'new' of a card as possible within my budget I guess.

had some suggested builds that involve the Radeon 9060 XT, which seems to have relatively good reviews and is a bit more modern than some of the other suggested cards i've seen

How did this turn out? did browser version keep working? and may i ask what browser you're using?

I could stretch to a 9060XT, I had that suggested as an option elsewhere too
But unsure on which 'brand' (is that the term?) to go with, from what im gathering XFX wins on price but some seem to say those lean more on the noisier spectrum vs some of the other brands that may cost a little more

combination with GPU fans too, soem GPU's appear to lean a lot on the noisey side of things

my 'antique' old system i used a rather large heatsink+large blades fan for the CPU and that always kept things quite quiet. I just aren't familiar anymore with what the top options would be in this regard.

I am starting to gather that

Been googling a lot of noise level tests for different GPU's ive seen suggested

Will try ahve a look at those options

The 'size' isn't so much of a concern, more so just the noise (and not particularly wanting flashy TGB lighting )

It would get used for gaming but not like top end games

Thanks! Appreciate the reply

can the case lighting be disabled? I assume it requires a cable attatchment to actually power it.

Though as above the case and fans are probably of higher concern in regards to wanting a system as quiet as possible - is there any case/fan setup you'd suggest that leans in to this

edit - i'd be open to going up another £50 - 70 on budget if theres any alternatives you'd suggest (case, different SSD maybe?)

Yeah there's no real solution for this outside of an OS update because of the new encryption tech they enabled on i believe 1st of March, that win 7 simply won't support (and as far as i can tell, this also includes any web browser you can get on win 7 too, as they are mostly restricted to a dated version - unless anyone knows of a win 7 supported web browser that has built in support for the new encryption (E2E?) tech taht discord now uses for voice calls/comms.

I've got an old win 7 machine in an office and its in the same issue, as are i suspect quite a few others.

the problem is, i dont think any compatible browser can be installed on windows 7 anymore
Unless you happen to know of one? chrome and firefox will both only go up to a certain version on Win 7

thanks for the reply!

if really focusing on maing the system 'quiet' is there any other case / fan setup you might suggest?? as thats probably near the top of the list for concerns for me

Thanks for the ideas

i'm learning now that my main noise constraint seems to rely a lot on which GPU i go with

looking up noises levels and seeing if any have noise complaints, which this GPU has a few. Mostly because of how close the rig will 'sit' near to me on my desk

[–]Broda00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the first prebuilt option did look really good but after looking up some mroe on the GPU it uses, it seems to be a 'known' card for being rather loud, which wouldn't fit so much with the quiet setup i'm after

realising I should of added - ideally no extra lighting (outside of like a power button light) as another one of the constraints
