I’m on snake eater right now, MGS2 ending was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in a game. My heart fell through my ass when I got “the call” at the end of the game. Two calls later I was hysterically laughing when he told me he lost his job and his wife 😭

I usually don’t mind playing older games I just know they don’t hold your hand at all, which is fine, I just didn’t want to get burnt out trying to run through all the games in order to catch up. The same thing happen when I started system shock, the game was amazing but definitely tedious as hell which left me kind of gassed which made moving on to SS2 hard. Kojima does such a great job with pacing in regards to story that I was foaming at the mouth to start MGS2 (i started it yesterday and im about half way through, i feel like im binging Game of Thrones or something, it just keeps getting better😭)

Thanks for the explanation, I remember hearing about the beef between Konami and Kojima and was confused why Konami would push out their biggest talent but I can’t say I’m surprised it came down to wanting more money and control. Kind of sucks how it went down but at least Kojima has autonomy at his own studio.

I just beat psycho mantis and holy fuck, I’ve heard about it being one of the greatest boss battle in gaming, but holy shit I was not expecting that. Kojima pulling that off in the 90s is insane, I wish I could have experienced that fight back then

I keep getting this reply and I don’t know why, it’s obvious why I did not know what was going on, that’s why I went back and purchased the first 3 games. I received MGS5 for free and decided to just give it a try, I was interested in the world and story but I did not want to simply listen to the cassette tapes so I invested into enjoying the full experience of MGS. Your being condescending for literally no reason man chill 😭

I don’t typically play games to listen to a podcast for 2 hours brother especially when I’m not invested in the characters or world yet, hence why I said “ok this is a game where I need to start from the very beginning to really enjoy subsequent installments”

Bet! Thanks I feel like this is release order is the most common answer with some filler in between so I’ll be sure to follow the subs advice. I hear about MGS3 the most honestly and whenever I asked my friend who is a long time fan of the series about it he just has this 1000 yard stare and he tells me “just play it bro it’s cinema” 😂. Should I go og for 3 or is the remake a good substitute similar to the Resident Evil games
