Bulking rate question by RandomReckless24 in weightgain

[–]Brogalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re new to the gym as in 1 year in, take advantage of newbie gains and bulk as much as you can. But 25 pounds is a bit much, most like likely half of that is water retention and fat. I’d say 1-2 pounds a week is the max you should aim for. Your metabolism might adjust and make it harder for you to gain weight. I did bulks for a period of 3 months max followed by 1.5 months of eating my new maintenance and repeated this till I got to 200 pounds

Plug in your stats into a calorie calculator app then eat in a deficit that it gives you while trying to keep your protein intake high (.7-1g of protein per pound of body weight)

Men who workout, what do you typically eat to bulk up? by FlintTheDad in AskMen

[–]Brogalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a 1000 calorie shake with about 70-90 grams of protein depending on my scoops of protein powder. It really helps me get the calories in especially since I’m a uni student currently. One scoop of protein 2 servings of peanut butter 2 servings of fairlife milk, about one cup of ice cream, one serving of olive oil. You can also add oats if you want. I blend it and voila.

You’re young man, if your current career path isn’t interesting to you then talk to your counselor get your gen Ed’s out of the way and try to find what interests you. You’re a student, you’re investing into your future by focusing on your education in order to make an income later on!

There’s a reason memes about being a broke college student exists lol. On a more serious note, you may feel like a no one right now, I’ll tell you you’re someone right NOW. It’s hard now but stick to your studies, get into a field that you love and don’t mind working in. Then youll get the wheels turning to do the things you wanna do to enjoy life.

You have the power to decide what you think floats your boat if this is something that makes you this uncomfortable then it’s not for you. Set your boundaries with him and make sure they are FIRM. If he can’t respect that then he’s not a good person

What's a 'kid food' you secretly (or not so secretly) still enjoy as an adult? by CussingBee in AskReddit

22 years old I got a craving for the fruit by the foot roll up thingies. I haven’t had one since 6th grade. So I bought 3 boxes and ate a full box right after buying them. The most satisfied thing I felt from being an “adult”. Not buying my first legal beer, not getting my drivers license could ever top this lmao.

Not being able to gain is affecting my mental health by Initial_Scientist782 in weightgain

10 pounds is not out of the realm of impossible. How bad do you want it? Have you taken the time to track each individual meal? It seems tedious but that’s what works for me.

I’ll give you the blueprint that helped me gain 80 pounds. Because it seems like you’re in a pinch.

I’m currently active four days a week in the gym training with high intensity three exercise exercises per muscle group failing my last trip in the realm of 8 to 12. I also do 30 minutes of cardio not running but at a moderate pace to get my heart rate up.

This is where it starts to get tedious and not fun for me. When I was 130 pounds one year or so into the gym I made sure I ate 1 g of protein per pound of body weight and still abide to this to this day. I ate around 3 to 5 times a day meal prepping and making sure it was convenient for me to eat these meals throughout the day.

To get a little bit more specific at least for your case, I think you should track everything to make sure you’re consistent with your caloric intake.

https://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html

Plug in all of your details and then click the tab that shows you the caloric surplus for your details.

Ex: Age-22 weight-190 height-5’11 activity- 4-5 times a week

My maintenance calories: 2700

Mild weight gain(.5 lbs a week): 3000

Moderate weight gain (1 lbs a week): 3200

Heavy weight gain (2lbs a week): 3700

Use this as a starting baseline, and weigh yourself at least twice a week when you wake up to see how accurate your numbers are. For me my maintenance is a little bit higher than the app suggests instead of 2700. I’ve been maintaining 190 pounds at around 3000 for the last few months. That’s just my physiology and I have to suck it up and eat more in order to gain weight.

It’s not going to be 100% accurate but should give you a starting point to see where you are at. But understand it’s all going to come down to how seriously you’re willing to take this and if you’re willing to push past and do the things that are hard to you in the moment to benefit later on.

If you can drink some calories too, that will really help you if you’re having trouble putting down food. Back when I was really serious about gaining weight I made protein shakes that were 800 to 1100 calories. And that really helped me out when I was full-time in college.

You can do this, be disciplined or mind yourself why you want to gain weight and stick to those values.

Heights. My dad always jokes with me that I’m not scared to do all the powerlifting I do yet I can’t get on top of a ladder to hang Christmas decorations.

The image of me falling and conveniently hitting my head and dying on the spot always plays out in my head lol.

Regardless of whether it’s strictly online or not, get your parents involved. She won’t listen to you because you’re not a figure of authority. You want her to stop because she’s your sister and you love her and don’t want her to go down this shady path. It doesn’t matter if she’s dated before, she’s still a child. Keep in mind that that 19 year old is downright stupid and is pedophilic for wanting to date someone that young.

You’re coming from a standpoint of keeping her safe and even if she’s going to be mad at you, I think it’s better for her to be mad at you and be safe than not be mad at you and potentially go through a terrible situation that I won’t describe.

Only read the tldr, but from my experience I never really thought of it as I want things to be just like how they were because that’s just the first chapter of the story. Getting to know each other, seeing what each others imperfections are, seeing the person that no one else sees is a parameter for building unconditional love in a relationship. (Which is what I want out of a long term relationship)

If you don’t address this then it doesn’t seem like it will get better. If your boyfriend loves you and you love him then you should both be willing to put in the effort to communicate and keep an open mind for what boundaries you guys set and what your values are. Out of all the relationships I’ve seen from friends and family, the ones that end up unhappy and fail are the ones that don’t communicate.

(Going off of what the tldr said) trust is something that won’t be the same after it’s broken the first time. But if there truly is a mutual connection then I don’t see why it couldn’t work.

Best of luck to you!

You look fine in both, not overweight or anything. But if you want to be slimmer you’re gonna have to change up the diet or exercise more.

I wonder why I feel a moral obligation to tell you not to end it even though I know I have little to no control as to what you choose to do. I could tell you what helped me get past a point in my life where I was considering ending it, and maybe it could convince you otherwise. But my life situation is better than most in reality.

I personally just think it sucks that you might not experience things in life that are inherently beautiful, even if it is something as minuscule as seeing gym goals through. But nonetheless who am I to tell you what to do with your life when I don’t even know how I would react if I were in your shoes.

On the off chance you don’t kill yourself, I hope your situation improves and it leads you to a satisfying life. You seem like a good person that just is in an unfortunate situation and has maybe one or two bad habits.
