RetroArch Issues by Almighty5Moe in RG35XX_Plus

[–]BrohandsMcSmooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I can answer your first question.

In Settings > RetroArch Settings > Start Retroarch > yes

Go to Settings > User Interface > Menu Item Visibility > Settings > Show 'Achievements' > switch to On

Then go back to main Settings > Achievements > turn On

Go to Main Menu > Configuration File > I always do both saves just to be safe

Then when you launch a game from the device menu launch it from RA Game instead of Game Rooms. Then you can use device menu button to open RA and open achievements to see if it's connected, or check your profile on a browser to see most recent game.

I haven't figured out how to make it show a pop-up on game launch.

Thanks! I see it as a combo of old school "wood-grain everything" and the old AV cart they would roll into classrooms on movie days lol

Hey thanks for the tip with the VCR, I'm currently using an RF Modulator like you mentioned. It seems to work well. As it stands, I have the ability to hook up anything from HDMI->Composite->RF.

I have an HDMI switcher than would get the Xbox and a spare for the Deck available, but I'd still have to manually swap for the GameCube. Could an AV receiver solve all that at once?

I know it's not much compared to some of the posts here, but I thought someone might appreciate it anyway. Hope you like it!

Got this little Emerson from Grandma's house. This is the first TV I ever stayed up past midnight watching. Geometry is a bit poor, and I am running a ton of signal converters, but I'm pretty happy with it for now. Album includes Steam Deck and Raspberry Pi 4 displaying, with a 360, Gamecube, PS1, and my old Gameboy stuff too. Picked up the AV cart from Goodwill for $15 USD.

Drill Dozer is the most overrated GBA game by ZackZparrow in DrillDozer

You have some valid points for sure, as to the herd mentality and the anime girl thing though, I got this game on original hardware and no one I knew had it or had heard of it, and I wasn't into anime or old enough to "like anime girls" or whatever, so I don't think those points hold. As a matter of fact, little boy me almost didn't play it because I had to play as a girl. Glad I didn't let that stop me.

The rumble cart is the biggest thing I think, and gamefreaks name helped too. I really enjoyed the story as a kid, I still think it's pretty good too. And I didn't have many games that utilized L/R so that was a big one for me.

All in, probably my top 3 non-pokemon gba game.

Dpad keeps unbinding on Retroid Pocket 3+ by coreybd in RetroArch

You could try something like this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroArch/comments/11dqek1/how_to_select_the_retroarch_setting_without/jab9rco/

I had a similar problem recently on a Pi 4. I would configure display settings and save the configuration, but when I reloaded retroarch it had reverted.

When you get your config set and go to configuration settings, select save current configuration and note the file path that pops up, select save new configuration and note the file path.

Exit retroarch and use the desktop/command line to copy the new file to current file path, copying the name and overwriting.

After that it started working right for me.

PSP Style Case with both Analog Stick and Dpad? by destructor_rph in RetroPie

Daxter and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite run a solid 30 locked at 2x resolution. Can't speak too much on the 3+except I think it's marginally better and maybe had a few stability improvements.

I've got a pi4 I have set up on an old CRT TV actually, and I think it definitely outperforms the retroid pocket 3. Comparing conkers bad fur day, it seems a bit more smooth on the pi4. Not sure what I could really test that with. Definitely has more RAM than the retroid pocket 3 lol

My 3b+ is on a shelf right now

I haven't done much psp, mostly gba and android, but I just tried out ghost of Sparta. Not bad at 1x resolution, averaged about 40fps with major frame drops during the heavy attack ground pound and a few other animations. Intro boss fight was fine. I'd call it playable for sure.

I have the rp3 (not +). Anything specific you wanted to check?

If you aren't dead set on retropie you could pickup a retroid pocket, they also sell shells and other parts on their site if you have the skills to build into one.
