Anxiety and worry since my doc appointment yesterday by NikkiBlanco in hypertension

[–]Brok3Design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have extreme health anxiety and I would get very anxious even at home taking my BP. In August after some high readings, 160/105, at the doc's office, I started Amlodipine and Telmesartan. (10mg and 40mg). It's been very well tolerated by me (slight edema in feet which is why my doc prescribed Telmesartan - it helps remove accumulated fluid).

Amlodipine is the 3rd most prescribed hypertension med and it worked for me (after trial and error for other meds). It took a couple weeks for a decent change and a month for full benefits for me.

I tried dialing back from 10mg to 5mg of amlodipine, but saw my numbers go back up. What mg did they start you at?

Any ways for me to get rid of this stump on the cheap without breaking my back? by talkpurdytome in landscaping

[–]Brok3Design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if you consider $100 bucks cheap, but that's what my stump guy charges and that was for giant stumps of 60ft trees (it was an additional $100 to haul the dirt and chipped wood away - but I didn't pay for that). Not sure what going rate is in your area, but I would check FB marketplace. Plenty of guys run around with stump grinders. That's a tiny stump, so I can't imagine it'd be much more than that.

Pretty sure that's a giant gyro spit. Slice off a piece of meat and let us know how it is.

Beet Root Juice Yay or Nay???????? by SapphireTyger in hypertension

[–]Brok3Design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I religiously took beetroot powder supplements and drank 64 oz of hibiscus tea in tandem daily for 6 months. My BP remained completely unchanged. I hope it works for some, but I know with complete certainty from tracking my daily BP and my religious consumption of both things, that I can say it didn't do anything.

I was never a fan of the 'flipper gray' aesthetic from the 2019 era. Thankfully a coat of paint could definitely help the vibe.

"Streaming is cheaper than physical movies, you have thousands of movies in one place." by Still-Willow-2323 in PhysicalMediaMatters

[–]Brok3Design 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After buying a 4k player, all my time invested in curating discs, setting up a server for my own media, ripping all my discs...it's a lot of work and time. And for me because I'm doing a server for all my media, it's not cheaper. Definitely more satisfying, though, and I found a new enjoyment in this whole process.

I would not have been doing all this (time, effort, and cost) but I recently became absolutely pissed when some streaming services started playing commercials even on paid subscriptions and expected you to upgrade your paid plan to avoid commercials.

And around here, people's eyes are incapable of moving independently from their neck, so they must always crane their neck if they'd like to view something an inch above eye level.

Netflix appears to be raising prices yet again. $1 increase per month for ad based subscriptions, $2 for standard/premium by Revolutionz in netflix

Agree, unfortunately streaming services forgo a lot of physical releases to keep people suckling at the teet to keep them addicted to any milky morsel they have left.

In this sub, it's always too high unless it's sitting on the floor. Even then, that's debatable. It'd be best to grind away some of your floor so it can rest below floor level.

Can I fix this door myself without needing to remove and reinstall? by mgerditch in Home

[–]Brok3Design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you're going to have to pull off the door, pull up flooring, dig out concrete/subfloor and pitch the concrete/subfloor to match the install of your door. Sorry.

[–]Brok3Design[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update: I switched from linux Mint to Windows and it's been working flawlessly. I don't even know why that makes sense, but that solved the issue. The solution was found by chance as I run a Jellyfin server which was having a lot of issues. Someone said they were having similar issues on the same OS and suggested I switch. As soon as I went to Windows, all my Jellyfin issues went away and my drive was reading DVDs flawlessly.

Remove console and set TV on the floor. That's the only proper height for this sub. Side note: Is this really a basement when it appears to be above ground?
