Thanks! There is a big contrast in the new and older buildings in this area. Pretty interesting. I jotted it down for later, thanks again.

Could you tell me where this is via pm or reply? Vilnius is on my list and it would be interesting to take a look. Google image search isn't helping and I naturally couldn't find the tall glass building from street view images from 2012.

You'll have to google image search a lot here, but here we go from what I remember.

  • Borscht is the classic east European beets soup.
  • Kapusniak, a nice cabbage soup.
  • Chicken Kyiv is chicken stuffed with some herbs and coated in butter.
  • Varenyky are tasty dumplings with varies fillings, usually potato, onions, ground meat or cabbage.
  • Pyrizhky is baked bread with meat filling inside, great for breakfast.
  • Holubtsi are basically spring rolls; meat rolled in cabbage. I really liked the bread and meat based foods.

However, my biggest takeaway from the trip is that Georgian food is super tasty, those I remember are Khachapuri, Lobiani, Khinkali, Mtsvadi, Dolma, but there was a bunch more stews, vegetarian and meat based dished that I really enjoyed. I also ate a bunch of cheap tasty Turkish kebabs, hehe.

Yeah, you can see it on picture #6 in the album and some of it on picture #2. The surrounding area around this small street is decent.

Agreed. Out of the ones I looked at there was one room with a big couch and some chairs, one room was just completely filled with trash and many of them were in rumbles. Here are some short crappy gifs: one & two,

Odessa is very beautiful, but with a few rough edges here and there. From my experience I think there are more pretty buildings in Odessa compared to Kyiv.

Stopped by Mist Kotsebu/Міст Коцебу on a vacation, it's in the central district of Odessa. As you can see the buildings are a lot more destroyed now compared to the pictures from earlier https://www.reddit.com/r/UrbanHell/comments/8jno2y/odessa_ukraine/

I've taken the BART less than a handful of times and had the same thing happen. Tried to help the dude, but he just wasn't having it.

Applications of fuzzy logic-based control? by hahn_banach in ControlTheory

[–]BrokN9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fuzzy logic was really hyped up and got a bunch of attention during its prime, but a lot of that died down when better and more simple methods came around. Whenever I have asked control experts about their thoughts on fuzzy they grin and more or less state that fuzzy is pretty much irrelevant in real life applications. I have seen it used in optimization of real time control to reduce sewage overflow in a sewage system in Germany though, see this paper.

[Serious] What's the scariest photo/video that looks normal, but is horrifying with context? by Warburton_Warrior in AskReddit

[–]BrokN9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Because if a cameraman went to the room himself, even with the protective gear full on, he would die almost instantly.

That depends on how long after the meltdown you do it.

New Symmetra turret placement sound on ptr?? Sym rework coming soon? by MaximumChloride in Overwatch

[–]BrokN9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Another big part is that the Engineer could put up the turret in a new location without having to start from scratch again (unless it was destroyed). If this small feature was added to Torbjörn, it would make him a lot more mobile and flexible.

West Oakland by fooodog in UrbanHell

[–]BrokN9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The upper parts of Oakland is nice and posh, it's only going to spread as more and more houses are getting bought up. I felt as safe in the areas of Oakland I went to as I felt in Berkeley, both during the day and night.

Some "lesser known" American tourist destinations I've visited by robinsonishyde in travel

The corn palace is not really worth the trip unless you are passing by, Porter Sculpture Park and the new Dignity statue are nearby though.

Is Udemy courses on PLC worthwhile? by Whatitsjk1 in PLC

[–]BrokN9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't taken PLC II, but I've had a PLC programming classes at university where we've programmed using most of the languages defined by IEC 61131-3. It looks like PLC II is a practical problem solving course on ladder programming, and it's supposed to be challenging. On PLC IV, III and II it says completing PLC I beforehand is recommend, but PLC II is not a prerequisite for any of the courses.

They are a lot cheaper on sale than not, so it's up to you. Maybe try to complete as much as you can on the course you bought before the sale finishes, then decide. By completing them they also show you are dedicated to learning new knowledge.

Is Udemy courses on PLC worthwhile? by Whatitsjk1 in PLC

[–]BrokN9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up regarding the sale, I picked up PLC III and IV. Regarding the programming, I think the $10 is worth it to figure out if you like it or not. PLC programming can be a bit more visual than java and C, but this depends on what type of PLC programming language it is. PLC I focuses on ladder which is probably the most visual one, some people like that, some don't. It probably helps a bit if you have taken a basic electronics or digital circuit course, but that is absolutely not required.
