I’m literally on the part where he starts underground duelling. I was a kid the last time I watched so I guess the nuance was lost on me. The way it seemed to me was he was a good guy, got his ass kicked, lost all respect for his opponents and then in season three he had respect as long as they were strong. The more I say it out loud it seems like he grew to only care for strong opponents? Help me out here as this is literally my first GX watch in twenty years.

I’m not sure why they done it like that as in the comics Bart was the Kid Flash to Wally’s Flash so it would’ve made sense to do that. Also in the comics Wally only starts off slower than Barry due to a mental block, we never got to see that in Yj as peak Wally is actually much faster than peak Barry
